Guest guest
Hello SandyThanks for the info, I've seen a news item on the BBC web site that mentioned a study involving inhaling a salt solution, This gave me the idea to buy the saltpipe. I use to live by the sea and at that time I was symptom free. Now I live here in Germany in a small flat which is very dusty, very dry air 29% and very cold in winter, I guess this living conditions are not helping my bronch. I'm in the process in having a " Wellness House " built its made totally out of natural wood, The house will be ready in 6 months I'm hoping this may ease my symptoms.Colin ________________________________________________________________________Colin, I have been in this group for some time, and there have been two other groups formed by some from this one. There are several people who have salt pipes, and I do know that 2 of thosepeople got quite a bit of relief in the first few weeks of use, but thenseemed to not notice much difference. However anything using saline, should be of some help, as there have beenrecent studies showing how successful saline is, and how much better someswimmers, surfers are, who suffer with Bronch,And they say its the saltwater. I,m sure one of the ladies who is in both groups June, will be able to giveyou some feedback.SandyPs one of the other groups is the bronchfriends@... _________________________________________________________________
Guest guest
It helps you cough up junk. It is recommended that you use it for 15 to 25 minutes continuously for best results. You should expect to cough up stuff if stuff is there to cough up. Otherwise, you can use it to maintain good health after your lungs are clear. It is a very simple devise, requires no batteries, minimal cleaning and is small enough to hold easily in your hand or place in your purse. They come with color coding spots if more than one member of your family will be using one, so that you can keep them separate and always use your own saltpipe. Guest guest
I do not believe the salt in this saltpipe becomes a systemic problem as it is a topical remedy and simply helps you breath better by loosening the yucky stuff. In other words, it should not affect your blood pressure, like eating a salty dill pickle would, for instance.

Guest guest
Those websites are useful, thanks to Lee here. My question about high blood pressured was answered to. I will ask my doctor ... seems that the UK is the only place to order one of these pipes. Here's some questions and answers , that I found: Q: How do I use The Saltpipe? A: The Saltpipe can be comfortably held in the hand. Insert the pipe into your mouth and inhale through your mouth. You do not need to inhale more deeply than during normal breathing. You should then exhale through the nose as this ensures that the complete respiratory tract is thoroughly cleansed and prevents any moisture from your breathe going back into the pipe. You may experience increased expectoration after use of the pipe which shows the effectiveness of the pipe as it cleans the respiratory tract. The pipe should be used continuously for 15 minutes daily. Q: Is The Saltpipe refillable? A: The Saltpipe cannot be refilled as it is a sealed unit. Q: How long will The Saltpipe last? A: Up to 5 years of recommended daily use. Q: Does The Saltpipe contain rock salt or normal table salt? A: Rock salt from the Praid salt mine of Transylvania. Q: Can I still take my current medication? A: As The Saltpipe contains only natural ingredients there are no side effects and it can be used alongside any current medication. This product is not intended to replace current medication or diagnose or cure any condition. Please consult a doctor if you are concerned about the applicability of this product in relation to your own condition. Q: Can I use The Saltpipe if I am pregnant? A: Yes, as it contains only natural ingredients and has no side effects. Q: Is the product suitable for children? A: The Saltpipe can be used by a person of any age so long as they are able to inhale through the mouth and exhale through the nose. Q: Will The Saltpipe affect my blood pressure? A: No, the amount of sodium that enters the body is very low and will not affect blood pressure. Most of it is then expelled through exhalation. Q: How do I Clean and store The Saltpipe? A: It is important not to store your Saltpipe in places of high humidity such as in the bathroom, and it should not come into contact with water. The Saltpipe, therefore, should be stored in a dry place and cleaned with a damp cloth only. Q: Is The Saltpipe a Registered Medical Device? A: Yes, it is a Class I Medical Device Q: Has The Saltpipe been clinically tested? A: Yes Janet > You all might benefit from the Saltpipe, which is a device that produces salty air to breath > and is actually very helpful There was a lot of email about it last spring. The Saltpipe > uses a salt crystal from deep in the earth, caves in Hungary mainly. >>> My husband > actually visited these caves and was astonished at the children in classrooms deep > inside the caves where the air is clean and healthy. >>> So, when I saw the Saltpipe > recommendation on this site I ordered one. Guest guest
About the saltpipe, thanks for the information! I've been trying to get hypertonic saline for the nebulizer, but have faced a series of obstacles. The saltpipe seems to be a good alternative to try for now. Thanks again for the info and have a good day. in L.A.Foebegirl@... wrote: It helps you cough up junk. It is recommended that you use it for 15 to 25 minutes continuously for best results. Guest guest
, what is the problem with getting the hypertonic saline? Does your consultant not agree with you using it? As you will see by reading earlier posts it is very easy and cheap to make up yourself (between 60 to 90 grams of non iodised salt per litre of sterile water, I use 70 grams).. The only caution is that many asthmatics cannot tolerate it..I find it very good and I do use the saltpipe as well. Cheers Carole > It helps you cough up junk. Guest guest
Hi Carole (and everyone) – Thanks for the question. I was looking for a pharmacy that does compounding to create the solution. I wasn’t aware of the ‘recipe’ you provided below. Thank you. Since we still use the English measurement system here in the states, I’ll have to work out a conversion – unless, someone else might have this info. I suppose I’m a little reticent to put the saline in my inhaler (the Omron NE-U22V). Does anyone have experience inhaling the Albuterol (or Ventolin) mixed with the saline in this type of Omron inhaler? The other ‘obstacle’ I encountered was a less than enthusiastic response from my doctor when I told her about it. I’m trying to move forward despite the wind being taken out of my sails, but it has been slow going. Thanks again for the info you provided. in L.A. Guest guest
Hello Carole, More often, than not, the smaller locally owned pharmacies do compounding. The larger pharmacies do not do this much any more. It is also likely that a pharmacy located in the hospital or medical centers may do compounding.
