Guest guest
Hi Sher, My resp. ther. told me that when we lay down, our lungs kinda lay down with us. The cpap forces air into the lungs and does "stretch" the insides of the lungs so that our volume increases during the nite.she told me that it would help taking in air during the day as the stretching will increase. I hope she is right in this. HP 6/06Sher K Bauman wrote: Hi all, I've certainly posted enough this morning but I want to know if any of you, know how or if a cpap machine affects the lungs? I know it's not o2 of course, but on my #10 pressured breathing I can't help but wonder. Cpap certainly helps me and I think I breathe easier even during the day. I do notice that during the day, when I take a deep breath that it feels like..."stretching"... in my lungs. Maybe it's just a good deep breath that I have forgotten! I of course will ask my pulmonologist as well but that's in November. I like instant gratification. LOL Thanks. Sher ipf 5-06 All-new Yahoo! Guest guest
Hi You, My hubby's c-pap is set on 12. When he got it the Dr told us it blows enough air to keep his throat open so he gets enough O2. He was so sleepy all day and the snoring was horrible. I was NOT getting any sleep.. Anyhoooo I don't think it does much for the lungs but I know it helps the body. And he has stopped falling asleep while talking, driving or listening to me...GGGRRR nothin new....LOL All I can tell you is it's good for you. Guest guest
I can only read part of your email....half of it is blocked by a blue box of recent activity from the board. Can send again so I can read it all? Thanks, Sher Re: Does anybody know? Hi Sher, My resp. ther. told me that when we lay down, our lungs kinda lay down with us. Guest guest
Well gee whiz girlfriend, you're not much help! LOL of course. I never had the severity your husband did. That must have been awful for both of you. Did you ever consider he might just be bored and couldn't stay awake? LOL. Jeeze, I'm kinda verging on sarcastic here. I am only teasing. My lungs seem to be "uncomfortable" with a deep breath...not noticed until cpap machine. Guess I'm getting paralysis of analysis... Thanks Peggy, Sher Re: Does anybody know?
