Guest guest Posted December 1, 1999 Report Share Posted December 1, 1999 Howdy Jeff, If memory serves me (and in your mid forty's that isn't a sure thing), I believe Paraquat (and its relatives Uraquat and Diquat), actually bind with molecular oxygen and form a lipid destroying compund (Hydrogen peroxide I think). That in turns leads to increased destruction of cells, and thus reduces the oxygen transport mechanism. Anyway, I believe that is how it happened.
