Paraquat and Oxygen

Howdy Jeff,

If memory serves me (and in your mid forty's that isn't a sure thing),

I believe Paraquat (and its relatives Uraquat and Diquat), actually

bind with molecular oxygen and form a lipid destroying compund

(Hydrogen peroxide I think). That in turns leads to increased

destruction of cells, and thus reduces the oxygen transport mechanism.

Anyway, I believe that is how it happened. If I'm wrong, it won't be

the first time or the last.

Time for medication again... this padded room is getting smaller and

the guards are getting meaner.

Take Care,
