Guest guest
Norm, I forwarded the article from Greg (a friend of mine) on to the group about the SAMe. The article said it is very expensive, just how expensive is it. Let us know how it works. I am the wife of Phil, a PSC patient. I take anti-depressants and anti-anxiety medication (Paxil/Buspar). I am trying to wein myself off of them. My job makes it almost necessary to stay on. I have IBS and when I tried St. 's Wort it irritated my bowel and I had to stop taking it. It would be nice to find an alternative to the Paxil & Buspar. Peg (Wife of Phil - PSC & UC) wrote: original article:/group//?start=3021 > Greg, > > Thanks a million for the article on SAMe. Guest guest
Norm, I would also like to contact Vitamin Research for a price on a multi-vitamin in a liquid form which Phil's liver doctor told him to use. I guess the liquid form is better absorbed. The bottle we got was almost $16. I'm not sure how many doses. He says it tastes gross but is able to mix it with a little juice and then drink a bigger glass of juice to get it down. Guest guest
Patti, I keep getting a " no longer available " message when I try this site. Any help? Jodi, 's Mom Reply-To: egroups To: egroups Subject: SAMe Date: Wed, 22 Sep 1999 09:20:26 -0300 We are just now able to buy this product where I live...I have found a wonderful web site with so much info. It is....http://lef.org/protocols/prtcl-068.shtml....please read it as it gives me some hope and promise for anyone with liver disease. We will know Friday if my husband has PSC but either way, we are buying this product and trying it. It is used widely in Europe for years with great success. Among its claims are the ability to reverse cirrhosis.......It is a substance that occurs naturally in our bodies and affects every cell in our bodies...oh well, just read it for yourself and decide. Guest guest
Patti, Very interesting info and easy to understand. Lot of supplements. The part about chemicals was interesting since many of the group have been exposed to toxic chemicals. Please give me your info in response to my poll. Thanks Peg-wife of Phil (56) UC 30 yrs, ds PSC 12/98 working towards listing Patti McCormick wrote: > Jodi, I just tried the site and it worked for me....let me give it to > you again.. > http://lef.org/protocols/prtcl-068.shtml > I hope it works for you, it was a wealth of info, actually Mike just > went to the Dr. an hour ago for his B12 shot and told her about > it....she's from England and told us to go for it! > Patti > > Jodi Rhoades wrote: > >> Patti, >> I keep getting a " no longer available " message when I try this site. >> >> Any help? >> Jodi, 's Mom >> >> >> Reply-To: egroups >> To: egroups >> Subject: SAMe >> Date: Wed, 22 Sep 1999 09:20:26 -0300 >> >> We are just now able to buy this product where I live...I >> have found a wonderful web site with so much info. Guest guest
Peggy, I didn't really follow the poll cause I didn't really know if we qualified for it, basic info is Mike is 52 yrs. old, diagnosed with UC 10 years ago (in remission since starting milk thistle), and awaiting results from his MRCP on Friday, possible diagnosis of PSC. Liver problems on and off for about 10 years. Patti Peggy Alfeld wrote: Patti, Very interesting info and easy to understand. Lot of supplements. Guest guest
I finally talked with my infectious disease doctor yesterday afternoon. He has no objections to my taking SAMe. He's a skeptic, but I told him I was desperate for some relief from the joint pain so he said it was O.K. with him. None of the doctors had any objections...other than the fact that I might be wasting my money. I am not changing any other meds. or treatments; I am merely adding SAMe.
