Guest guest
At least you can squat, when I do there is a big case of falling over now, my balance is gone. And every day I have to care for a flock of budgies and cockatiels, not to mention the big gang of Rats and mice and dogs and cats I own...Man it is a several hour a day duty to care for my little ark. But they keep me going. And when I did nap this afternoon I had five little dogs curled up on my body. Sometimes a good thing sometimes a bad thing. There have been days when I wake and can't get out of bed because the dog won't move. I literally roll out of bed. For me any side of the bed is the wrong side....Debi Merritt wrote: DebiI'm sorry you're feeling so badly today, and hope you start feeling better. I don't know how I felt today, because I slept until 6:40 tonight! I looked at the clock when I woke and figured it was still early morning, then I heard the tv set, which I KNEW I'd turned off before gong to bed. When I realized it was pm, not am, I felt like I'd been cheated of a day. Now that I'm up, though, I'm glad I slept all day. My legs ache constantly & are especially bad today. Then I came out to join my hubby and Polly (the budgie) started calling me. She insists that I squat in front of her cage and chirp along with her. She thinks I'm her baby. I finally had to cover her because she wouldn't shut up! I'm trying to teach her real words, but since I've shown her I can imitate her, she insists in conducting all her conversations in budgie-speak. Lord only knows what I'm saying to her! She does understand at least some of the words we say to her, even if she doesn't repeat them. If I say "bell" she starts yanking on her bell. She is really cute with that thing, and jerks it around for all she's worth! She also understands "eat" and "night night", and we don't dare say her name or the word "budgie" because that really gets her going! It's really bad when you have to spell words out in front of your parakeet, lol!cynAt 05:00 PM 10/16/2004 -0700, Deborah Younce wrote: Hey I am on my way to sing at the bar and my live in cousin is saying " Know you know how I feel every morning! While it is wonderful to share our experiences with everyone on the list as to what treatments do and don't work for us, pls always check with your dr. Some treatments are dangerous when given along with other meds as well as to certain health conditions or just dangerous in general.2. If you are in a difficult situation (doesn't matter what it is) pls don't be afraid to ask for help. It is the first step to trying to make that situation better.Have a nice day everyone. Guest guest
There he goes again! BTW, AOL filters your email( I also have an AOL addy) but when I report spammers, no feedback at all from them. I am sure they are overwhelmed in dealing with these jerks, but don't expect much if you report him. Guest guest
True. What is worse is when they tend to minimize it. They say that they are tired and they get through it, why can't we, or that they are more tired than us because they had to work all day or something along those lines and it was harder for them and we shouldn't complain..... I went with a couple of friends to a dedication of a new church a while back and while there I was explaining to them about the flood in the apartment and that mom was worried we would be evicted with no place to go or have to pay bundles of money to the complex. One of my friends pipped up (she is in a reniscence reinactment group) that at least no one is trying to marry me off, like her " kingdom " was doing to her character. I could have spit nails! How the He$$ does that compare to a REAL life problem? My other friend just about punched her for saying that and thinking that it was worse than the possibilty of my family being thrown out on the street. Luckily, it seems that everything will be fine for the moment. But we doubt we will get the new apartment (with less steps) now and we doubt that they will want us to re-up our lease when it is done..... Sorry. I meant to comfort you in your rant and ended up ranting myself. I didn't mean to. I do feel for you and hope you have fun singing! Guest guest
LOL! I actually don't squat, I sit on a cardboard box in front of her cage. Like you, I cannot keep my balance. My husband teases me about it (his favorite one is calling me drunk) which I don't really appreciate. So one day he was walking thru the living room and tripped over something and fell, and I asked him if he was trying to be like me now. He got really offended by that, and now shows a little more sympathy when I fall over. It has become a habit for him to reach out and hold my arm when I stand up. He is so worried that I'm going to die (I'm 12 years older than he is) and I keep telling him that I'm probably healthier than he is, an the women in my family tend to live to be over 100! One good thing about having snakes for pets is that they don't get in the bed, lol! One morning I woke up sobbing because I'd dreamed I accidently killed one of my snakes, and immediately went and got the snake and let me hold him until I felt better. We have one python in particular that gives really good massages (all the pythons do, but Mickey is the largest and we have a great bond), and will have me lie down on my stomach and put the snake on my back. The nice thing about snakes is that they don't get tired, or complain about it. And they seem to know where I'm hurting and will head right for the exact spot and start bunching their muscles and working out the tenseness and pain. I know it sounds weird, but it's true! cyn At 11:02 PM 10/17/2004 -0700, Deborah Younce wrote: At least you can squat, when I do there is a big case of falling over now, my balance is gone. Guest guest
That is such a sad thought. I don't know how many years I actually have had fibro....I didn't realize how much pain I was in until I started taking Neurontin and stopped getting so many migraines. The Neurontin also helped with the fibro pain. I didn't realize how much it was helping until I ran out and had to go a day without any. Within a few hours I thought I was getting the flu! Then I got my Neurontin refilled and thought " what a great cure for the flu! " . I had heard of fibro, didn't even know what it was until my pdoc suggested that I had it. cyn At 01:10 PM 10/18/2004 -0700, Deborah Younce wrote: One of the biggest shames to me is how many thousands of people out there don't even realize they may have this hard to diagnose illness.
