Hi

Been there and done that with regard to mycoplasmas being the reason for

acquiring RA, Lupus as well as scleraderma...I did 18 mo of antibiotic treatment

including 5 mo of IV antibiotics (clindamycin) but no success for RA.

Interesting theory. I know I have had mycoplasmal pneumonia.

Ditto here. I have been on doxycycline for two months now. My

opthalmologist put me on it because of the side effect of thinning

tears. It didn't thin the tears and I have had some rather long and

difficult flares while I was on it!!....Marina in Oh

They thought it was the cause of Dercum's too. I went the antibiotic

route too (I think it was tetracycline?), no effect. Someone last

year thought Dercum's was infectious, and wanted to keep me out of my

aquatherapy class!
