Can't get this flare under control

Remicade is good stuff. You can flare on anything- IMHO- but it certainly

lessens the flares. I have not heard of anyone " outgrowing " the drug- lesser

effect. I do know, unfortunately, that not having an allergic reaction to the

drug does not assure you will never have an allergic reaction. My rheumatologist

monitors my response to the drug between infusions. My biggest problem with it

has been getting the infusion started. I have small deep veins. It has helped my

hands and shoulders tremendously but my ankles and the various joints in my feet

are still pretty miserable. I have been flaring the past few days- I think

weather related. Hope that helps.

Thanks that's good to hear. How long have you been on it and

often do you take it?

Hi Janc...Remicade worked well for me the first few months, but then I

did begin flaring. My rheumy went from doing Remicade every 8 weeks, to

every 6, then every 4-5. At that point I became pretty ill with

pneumonia that was stubborn to heal. I'm not sure how common my

experience is. I've been on Humira with inj. mtx for a year or so with

good results.

I hope you continue to get relief from Remicade.

Hugs...
