Guest guest
I was wondering if anyone knows anything about people with diabetes taking Prozac. A friend said that she heard that people with diabetes shouldn't take Prozac, but she didn't know why. I did a search with www.rxlist.com and looked up Prozac. This is what it said about diabetes: In patients with diabetes, Prozac may alter glycemic control. Hypoglycemia has occurred during therapy with Prozac, and hyperglycemia has developed following discontinuation of the drug. As is true with many other types of medication when taken concurrently by patients with diabetes, insulin and/or oral hypoglycemic dosage may need to be adjusted when therapy with Prozac is instituted or discontinued. Does anyone have any info or experience with this? What does " Prozac may alter glycemic control " mean? Thanks Marie
