Guest guest
rebecca.... with mtx i only had a big belly ache, which was my liver enzymes really high... and then they put me one enbrel and i have had no reactions except that most of the pain is gone... i got my 5th injection last night... and walked down the stairs like i was in good shape..... ha ha ha rae [ ] ? about meds. Hi everyone, and thank you for all your support. Yes I have seen a rheumaatoligst, and we are also trying different combos. I have a question? has anyone else had really bad joint pain with heat after they take their meds? The reason I ask is because when I take mxt I get this pain about 20 hours after. And now that I am on Enbrel I have had the same effect, but even worse joint pain. I go to the doctor rheumy in a week and will ask her if it is a reaction to the drug. I have been on Enbrel for 1 month. first two weeks were ok but now I think I seem to be getting worse. Just curious to see if anyone has gone through this. Guest guest
Hi , I am on MTX and humira, and never experienced that problem. I'm glad you are going to the rheumy soon, and can explain what is going on. Keep us posted, Tawny > > > Hi everyone, and thank you for all your support. Guest guest
: I am new to this as well. I had my second dose of MTX last night, and I am VERY sore and achy today. How is it that a medicine that is supposed to make us feel better, can actually cause more pain? Maybe it's not working for me either. I had Cortisone shots 3 days prior to my first dose of MTX, so maybe that's why I didn't notice the side effects as much? Who knows... Glad you posted... > > > Hi everyone, and thank you for all your support. Yes I have seen a > rheumaatoligst, and we are also trying different combos. Guest guest
, Yes, MTX can produce joint pain. I'm not sure about Enbrel. I'll have to look that up. I'll tell you where to go! Guest guest
In my experience it takes at least 5 or 6 weeks before the beneficial effects of MTX kidk in. Guest guest
, I'm on Enbrel and don't experience the joint pain that you describe. I see posted info that says other people have reported the same joint pains. Hopefully since the first 2 weeks were ok, the pains will subside and you will get relief. a On Sat, 12 Feb 2005 16:47:40 -0000, rgkmacias <rgkmacias@...> wrote: > > > Hi everyone, and thank you for all your support. Guest guest
Hello, Reference joint pain... MTX takes about 3 months to take affect for some people - My RA when I was first put on it told me to expect a 3 - 4 month wait for any improvement and it was almost 4 months before I had any relief. I don't think the hot joints is from the medications - I think that is probably just the fact that your RA is active at this time. My hands and feet are always hot because my RA is very active at this time. I keep hoping that it will go into remission and I will get some relief but for now I am in that active stage. I put heat on my hands and feet and it is the best thing I have found. I have an electric blanket in my chair that I sit on...I have it over the pillows so that I can lean back and get that heat on my neck. I will wrap myself in the blanket to help with my hands and feet. Hopefully, your RA will go into some remission soon and you will get some relief. I have gotten so I just grin and bear it as much as possible. I hate taking pain pills but they do take the edge off - they usually leave me in a fog but I am able to function. If I am going anywhere, I take a pain pill and a muscle relaxer but if I am home I use the heat to help me out. I will be adding you to my prayer list and hoping you get the answers you want and the help you need. God bless, Althea > Hi everyone, and thank you for all your support.
