I am just curious, since I have heard that Vitamin C therapy, taking it I. V. in a large dose along with antibiotics has been known to rid the body of infections. I was just wondering if Wayne's doctors considered this possibility before amputation. I know this is a possibility for all diabetics, and even though vitamin C can cause false high gbs readings, I would definitely try this therapy along with antibiotics before considering the drastic step of amputation. Guest guest Posted September 8, 2003 Report Share Posted September 8, 2003 I know he was in the hospital earlier for 26 days with antibiotic by IV. He was then well enough to go home but not cured. I assume they continued oral antibiotics which must not have done anything. They did test to see if it was staph which it was not. It will be tough for him to learn to walk differantly. He had to have his left leg amputated about a foot below the knee. I will kep people up to date as I find out info. Dean wayne > Hi This is teresa, and I'm sorry to hear about wayne.
