Guest guest
Hi Jena, Sorry to hear your little dog has itchy skin. I totally understand all about that I have 2 Newfoundlands and both seem to have the itchy skin problems. It cost me $84 the other day to take my new puppy to the vet to find out why she is itchy all the time. He gave her an antibiotic and if that doesn't work then to the next option...and it is just so darn expensive any more, but couldn't live without my babies!!!! Lol Good luck with your baby. Gentle hugs, Debi -- my poor little dog My little dog Shelby has hot spots or dermatitis. Anyways my DIL works as a Vet Tech and told me to shave the places and bathe her good and then put the medicine on. So, Shelby ended up with a backward Mohawk. LOL but she seems to be relieve. not scratching anything like she was. Sure hope this helps her as visits to the vet are very expensive down here. Guest guest
My DIL told me that my little Shelby has allergies from eating table food. But whatever I eat she thinks she is suppose to at least get a bite of it. I have tried to break her from it but that is easier said than done. She is like a baby to me too. When I am laying down and hurting she is right there with me. Jena > > Hi Jena, > Sorry to hear your little dog has itchy skin. Guest guest
I usually keep some of their own dog food on the table with me. I give them that when they beg, they think that's what I am eating! It takes away the guilt. My animals (2 Labradors - and and 3 cats - Jasmine, Shelby and Harley) are more like people, especially since I have been disabled. They care more and you can tell them anything. Guest guest
Jena, Watch your puppy when she is given the steroid shot as when mine got it he lost his bladder...had a very hard time holding his bladder and would be drinking and peeing at the same time. It does subside but it was a little scary in the beginning just wanted to give you a heads up. Gentle hugs, Debi -- Re: my poor little dog Kim keeps telling me she is going to bring Shelby a steroid shot but I am wondering when. Guest guest
Tricia, Great idea with their food. lol My dogs would not be fooled, they know what people food tastes like as I've given it too them too much. Perhaps I could give them some treats instead? Or at least until they got use to the idea of not getting my food. Then I might be able to get away with giving them their own food. lol They are just too smart for their own good sometimes. I have Baxter the boxer, Smoky the Lab and Bandit the Beagle. They are my babies and most days they are what keep me sane. They are also my people friends, I don't even refer to them as dogs. lol it hurts their feelings. Danny calls them my Entourage! LOL He hates that every where I go in the house the dogs are right there with me. I go from one room to the other and they follow. They even have a bed on the floor on my side of the bed where they sleep, all three of them. I have to feel my way to the bathroom with my feet as not to step on anyone during the night. They are rotten to the core! But I love them and they don't cause me stress! Always be good to your friends!
