Guest guest
I signed up for it--its not as board as Up to Date but it has more high yield info in my opinionthe POEMS (patient oriented evidence that matters) is nice little snippets of info you can sign up to get emailed on a regular basis they also have a nice PODCAST (infopoems you can find on itunes)Very evidence basedUp to date I think is much more expensive (at her old clinic my ARNP got it--2 years cost $800) Cannot remember-- any of you guys use essential evidence plus? I singed up for a free trial It is chepaer than dynamed or uptodate at 79/yr MD ph fax
Guest guest
BROAD!!!!I dont think you get the overwhelming detail you would from Up to date, but its a lot more to the point and brief. Much cheaper also but you won't get a major amount to read on the hot topics. Perhaps the powers that be can see if they can get enough IMP members to sign up for up to date, the fine people of up to date can give imps a discount.Power in numbers! The one reference I read the most is " the clinical medicine consult " which is really a reference you can put on your smart phone, or in some cases, an ipod touch. OR your own computer if you prefer. It has detail which is not quite as high as up to date but very good. Also will have sections that detail on what to order when. Procedure info also. http://clinicalmedconsult.com/On Wed, Dec 28, 2011 at 10:32 AM, wrote: what means IT IS NOT AS BOARD ? yeah UTD is 500/yr dynamed 400/yr for one personouchthanks I signed up for it--its not as board as Up to Date but it has more high yield info in my opinion -- MD ph fax
Guest guest
Beside the thorough information available on Uptodate, I love how time spent on it can be counted as CME. I don't know about the other sources mentioned, perhaps they too can be counted for CMA, but that UTD benefit is a huge bonus for me when considering the cost, plus to think that it is deemed of sufficient quality to count for CME is comforting, too. I do agree it is not the best of the on-the-fly references, but give me five minutes on it and I can usually get some very good, and very helpful, info/insights. --Tim Malia, MD (phone / fax) www.MaliaFamilyMedicine.com www.SkinSenseLaser.com Malia Family Medicine & Skin Sense Laser 6720 Pittsford-Palmyra Rd.
