Okay question for everyone...what is the significance of pale stools? Is that

for PSC or just for UC? I do not have UC or Crohns at this time...so, just

wondering=) Thanks everyone!

God bless and keep you,

Love,

Hi

When you say pale do you mean a light yellow or pale brown? This is what

Tina had with the UC before it was treated. Reason is the the bowels want

to get rid of everything as fast as they can because they are inflammed.

This stops a stool from forming ect. Jeff Husband Tina (PSC-UC)

Dear ,

As far as I know, the pale stools are due to the bile in them. I don't think

that it has anything to do with UC. Hope you're doing great. Sorry I haven't

written much, but we've been soooo busy with the kids and the holidays. Take

care, Jacquelyn

Jacquelyn--

Are the drs. doing anything about the high iron or cholesterol?

I've read a few things on high iron and it says that it can cause--get this--

liver disease and cirrhosis, of which I already have both. It also says that

unless you have phlebotomy done (blood drawn to get rid of excess iron)

that it can cause problems w/other organs. But what it didn't say is what

is considered excess to the point where a (or several) phlebotomy(ies) should

be done.

Anyone have any answers or experiences w/this?

I am so glad that we have this support group!! I am learning so much! Thank

you for your letter. My doctors really aren't concerned about any of my

bloodwork other than the bili, albumin and P/T. They say that the elevation of

the iron and chol are due to the PSC and nothing to be concerned with. That

really worries me b/c I think they should be watching the whole picture all of

the time. Now after I mentioned to my GI last week about our support group

and how all of y'all have ERCP's to help (not just diagnose) he did say that

my itching is " impressive " to him and that if my Alk Phos is up more this time

we'll do another ERCP....so we'll see. I'll probably find out on Mon. I

haven't had an ERCP in 16 months so I would breathe easier knowing that all of

the biopsies are negative and to see if there have been any changes good or

bad.

Also, has anyone had problems with migraines??? I've had the same migraine for

about 8 weeks now and I'm sure it's just from the stress of the holidays,

etc., but it would be interesting to know if you all suffer the same thing

ever. Hope you don't!! :)

I hope everyone is doing well and had a blessed holiday.

God Bless you all!!

Jacquelyn -

No, no migraines. Thank heaven. They had preventives out there for that.

You might ask your dr. about it since you've had it for such a long time.

My son used to get them and he had a prescrip. he would take right

away, go to bed in a dark room and sleep a couple hrs & it would be

gone. He's outgrown them now, though. If you need the name of the

med., let me know & I'll do some digging to see if I can find out what

it was.

Let us know how your dr appt goes. I go minimum every 6 mos & they

routinely do an ultrasound and blood work. I have blood work done here

by my family dr every 3 months, which I send to my Mayo drs. So they

keep pretty close tabs, too.

8 weeks of a Migraine...how can you stand it? 4 hours & if nothing else has

worked I'm off to the hospital to be knocked out & given pain medication.

Thats suppose to break the cycle. Had one in November had one in December. I

am praying the New Year will break the cycle forever. Maybe I am a wimp..but I

can't stand pain like that. Get some relief. I know it must be hard to

function like that.
