My father had TB when I was a child and I had a febrile illness which was never

diagnosed at the age of 5. Whenever I had Mantoux tests (the last at the age of

23) I had violent reactions. I was also told at one stage that I had a shadow

on my lung. It's not there any more, but my rheumatologist felt strongly that

we should not take the risk - prevention is better than cure and all that!
