Since then I've had tremendous pain at times, with a lot of normal RA pain that pain meds don't help sometimes. I can't get off Prednesone by dropping 1 mg at a time. I'm doing pretty well alternating 10 one day and 9 the next. If I can get another med going, I can drop off Prednesone quicker, but only if I can get the meds from a free program. Guest guest
Ken - you are such a sweetheart- not many people know of those services. BTW- your recent poem was very good- it flowed so well. --------- [ ] Need info- > > > > > > My rheumy is pushing me to get off Prednesone and wants to put me on > > another > > drug to supplement MTX. Guest guest
Ken, thanks for the tip. I found them on line and downloaded the forms to fax to them. I then called my Rheumy and asked his nurse if he would write a prescription for Enbrel before I go any further. The doc has been trying to push me in the direction of the older meds, so I have to know. Anyhow, Enliven Services is just a stopping place in the system. They send the paperwork to the doc to be filled out. My nurse said they don't fill out papers, they send them to a Patient Advocate in the hospital. She also told me that I would receive a 3 month supply for a co-pay of $10 per. Is that what you paid (just being nosy), or was I told wrong? Tell me about the V.A., if you don't mind. I had no disability from my service of 8 years in the USAF. Do I qualify for anything? I've been told I don't get anything from them except for a maybe small interest loan. I do need dental work done but can't afford it. Most of the teeth have to be surgically removed because the roots grew crooked, or something like that.
