Guest guest
Carissa, I, too, was diagnosed young. I was in my early 20's when I started with knee pain. I had just recently graduated from college and was looking forward to starting my life in a very active and physically demanding job. I was unable to do the job that I had gone to school for and ended up working as a security officer for several years. It was very depressing at that time (and still is from time to time) but I am doing well. I am on medications that have helped very much. I've been very lucky - I suffered few side effects from all of the meds I've been on. I am about to graduate from a graduate program that is physically demanding and VERY time consuming. My younger classmates (most of whcih are 10 years younger than me) had a very difficult time surviving school (we lost 6 out of 32 people) but I still managed to survive too. I am now 33 and my biggest problem is all of the weight gain. I am happy to answer ANY questions that you may have. I don't always find the time to read all of the posts, so feel free to email me personally. I'm also on instant messaging if anyone wants to chat with me there IM-- nlmck1551. email nlmck1551@... This is a great place to be for support and aswers to your questions. Let me know how I can help, Message: 8 Date: Wed, 02 Feb 2005 02:39:14 -0000 From: " cneupie " <carissaneupert@...> Subject: Newly Diagnosed with RA Hello - I have been recently diagnosed with RA. I am only 26 and am depressed about the diagnosis. Is there anyone else who was diagnosed young and doing well with whom I could chat? Thanks!
