Guest guest
Wondering what Dr Ant has to say in re the NPR story at https://www.npr.org/2011/09/26/140737591/bartering-for-health-care-yardwork-for-\ treatment I am barter-friendly, but what I actually need most of all is money - I am skeptical that the Medical Board e.g. will let me manage their blood pressure in exchange for my license renewal fee, or AAFP let me give them all Pap tests and prostate exams for my maintenance-of-certification (or whatever it's called) fee ($1800!). I suspect that many of my patients could only offer prayers, rides to the grocery store, or promises, in exchange for medical care. I know this bc some of them pay this way already! I know Dr Antonucci also has many impoverished patients. Is barter a frippery?
