I just love Jesus -- ***QUESTION*** Just curious to know if any of you had mono (as a teenager or later in life) prior to eventually developing your FM or CFS? I've had several doctors tell me over the years that they think there is a link there - maybe like chicken pox can surface in older adults as shingles? Thanks,
Guest guest
, I did test positive for inactive mono about a year after my middle son devloped a potentially life-threatening condition called Henoch- Schoenlein Purpura (which I had diagnosed being a former Peds ICU nurse prior to taking Trey to the pediatrician). I asked her to run a mono test, which she refused, as this can bring on Henoch-Schoenlein Purpura. To make a long story short, a year later in 1999 (after changing pediatricians (Dr. *itch and I just could not work together re: my kids), Trey and I both tested positive for inactive Epstein- Barr. So I have had it, but don't know when. I did not start developing significant problems until this year when I was first diagnosed with autoimmune thyroiditis (Hashimotos). My PCP says I have FMS too. I see a rheumatologist for the first time next week, though, so I don't have a definitive diagnosis yet. I don't know what the latest research is showing, but may people with autoimmune diseases have had mono at some time in their life. > > Just curious to know if any of you had mono (as a teenager or later > in life) prior to eventually developing your FM or CFS? Guest guest
Boy that is strange, I had strep throat three times in a row and my doctor said that was impossiable. My daugther as a child had chicken pox twice which they told me then was impossiable I need to add up all the stuff that is going on, cause the more I read here in this room the more sure I am. While it is wonderful to share our experiences with everyone on the list as to what treatments do and don't work for us, pls always check with your dr. Some treatments are dangerous when given along with other meds as well as to certain health conditions or just dangerous in general.2. If you are in a difficult situation (doesn't matter what it is) pls don't be afraid to ask for help. It is the first step to trying to make that situation better.Have a nice day everyone.FUnnhttp://f1.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/jade10_49622/album?.dir=/My+Photo+Album & .src=ph & store= & prodid= & .done=http%3a//f1.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/jade10_49622/my_photos Glimpse into my vida loca!!!!!!!__________________________________________________
