Hi All. I would just like to mention that these patches are very

strong bedication and addicting!! I have PA, Psoriasis,

Osteoarthritis and Fibromyalgia too. My last doctor put my on them

after oxycontin and morphine pills wasn't helping me. They would

work for so long then he would have to up the dose and it got higher

and higher. To make long story short I had to find a new doctor and

until I did I had wasn't not able to get any more patches to wean

myself off them and went through 4 weeks of withdrawals from these.

This was the worst thing I have ever been through in my life!! I went

to the local ER and the doc would only give me 4 days worth of pills

to help me through the withdrawals, I was so miserable. So please

becareful with using these patches. I am on disability now and I

never want to get hooked on anything like that again, so I am not on

any pain meds, my new doctor won't give any narcotics but I am glad

after what I went through. Yes I am in pain everyday, some worse

than others and some not quite so bad. The cold weather has

definitely made my arthritises worse. With so many diff. things it

is hard to tell what is making what hurt on me, lol!!

are not only addictive but seductive. It's important to find a reasonable level

of pain control, and not expect to take all pain away; it's important to stay at

a given level of pain meds and not ratchet upwards, because there's no end to

that ladder, except to be forced off it, one way or another, and it can be a

very long fall.

I have been broke every month for so long.

Do you use Duragesic patches too Tawny. I think they are great. I feel so

good on them. They don't make you drugged up or sleepy either.

I would reccomend the Duragesic patches to anyone who has severe pain

that cannot be completely controlled with typical pain pills. Before

I started using them I was only taking lortab for the pain and usually

had to take a 10/650mg pill every 2 hours. That is not good. I still

take the lortab for breakthrough pain but the fentanyl does it's job

very well and I only need a few. I recently dropped down to the

75microgram per hour patch from the 100's because I lost my insurance

and was going to have to get off of them but recently got it back so i

plan on moving back up. I was taking the methotrexate injections but

haven't since they stopped making it with preservatives, so now all I

am on for the RA is prednisone, which makes me feel better but I can't

stand the fat face:( oh well. I'd rather be fat than in pain i

suppose!lol... since my symptoms began about 5 years ago(severe

symptoms anyway) i have been in a constant flare. I have not had one

good day. I'm hoping to start enbrel or something similar soon.
