What kind of pain is this?

Hi everyone. I got ambitious today and rearranged the kids' bedrooms. I knew I would pay for it later. So far the only things hurting are my back and my elbow. As for my elbow.....this is a new type of pain. I don't know what to call it. I'm not even sure what's hurting. All I know is that it's a dull aching all the time, but when I straighten my arm out and "lock" my elbow, I get this crushing pain in the very back of my elbow. It feels almost like two bones are pressing against each other, although I know that's not what it is. There is no swelling (there never is any swelling with any of my pain.) Can anyone tell me exactly what this is that's hurting? The only thing I can think of is the bursa??

Not meaning to be sutsie but you're probably just reacting to overuse. Stop locking your elbow.

1. While it is wonderful to share our experiences with everyone on the list as to what treatments do and don't work for us, pls always check with your dr. Some treatments are dangerous when given along with other meds as well as to certain health conditions or just dangerous in general.2. If you are in a difficult situation (doesn't matter what it is) pls don't be afraid to ask for help. It is the first step to trying to make that situation better.Have a nice day everyone.

Hey ,

Yeah...sounds like a muscle strain. Did you do a lot of heavy

lifting or repeated motions like dusting or scrubbing? I broke the

head of my radii a few years back and now whjen the weather gets

damp and chilly or I over do it reminds me of my stupidity....[fell

off a step ladder I wasn't suppose to be on] lol Try warm heat for a

while and the salon pas if you have them. Your right about the bursa

sack being the culprit too. Don't know what you take for pain but if

there is no medical reason why you shouldn't try an aleve or motrin.

for a few days too. I just reaggravated mine abig time when I tried

to take the top off a flashlight to change the batteries....Heard

it 'pop' so figured I tore something and the Dr. agreed also. As

much as it hurts keep some movement going. Do slow so as not to rile

somthing else up. Darn thing about fibro....a flare will most

assuredly start at a weak area and more times than not you'll have

no idea what triggered it. For instance.......The lady bug invasion

has hit Iowa...Hundreds hatch out and make being outside almost

impossible unless you want to look like that guy on TV that gets

covered with bees...........anyway after spending the morning

picking them off the inside patio door and throwing them outside one

by one...Tina and I decided to take up the old flyswatter and go to

war..!! Must have spent an hour or more swinging at the darn

bugs...result???......Salon pas to all owie areas...Tina's taking a

soak in the tub to see if that will loosen things up....and tomorrow

will be worse....Plus the lady bugs will still be out in force.

Noramlly I try to ignore them as they are good pest eaters...spiders

mosquitos..etc. but when they start flying around and land in your

hair or backof the neck......then it's time to do away with

them..!!! So on that note I'll sign off...LOL hope I was able to

help a little...
