Do you have any useable vision at all?

I ask because I have been legally blind all of my life, but mostly

functioned as a sighted person using low vision aids until 1988 when I was

48 years old and rapidly lost the remaining vision I had until I only have

light perception now. Even legally blind, when this happened to me I had to

retire from work on disability and it took me a year to get use to being

blind, having to learn to use a cane and depend on others to go shopping and

so forth. I was use to doing these things without sighted assistance before

I lost my vision. Today I am glad I have light perception, since some is

better than none. I already knew how to read Braille before, since I

attended the Georgia Academy for the Blind in high school for four years.

After loosing my vision I awoke many mornings with tears of grief in my

eyes, because loosing this caused me to grieve, and I felt like giving up,

too.

The depression will pass in time. Today I am glad I am alive, since I enjoy

listening to music, reading books, and sharing my life with family and

friends, and strangers, too, like you. My unseen friends on the internet

have been very helpful to me, even more than some will know. So hang in

there and learn to enjoy the struggle of every day life. I don't know if

chelation will restore your vision or not, but I do believe it may make you

more healthy and possibly give you more stamina. I don't even know if it

will help me, but it offers me more than the so-called medical experts have

offered me, which is take this pill and I will see you in six months.

at least we are trying to do something to improve our lot, and this

means that we do wish to live a better life or even have a better quality of

death, which is inevitable to all of us and nothing to fear, since it is

perfectly natural for all that exists today including man, plant, animal and

earth.

So I encourage you to stick with the struggle, and teach others like me how

to deal with life with its highs and lows.

Hang in there ! You can do it! It has to get better, just keep telling

yourself that... it has to get better! There's light at the end of the

tunnel! Don't give up. The day you give up could have been the break through

for you. I know it is frustrating, overwhelming, and at times may feel

impossible. However, there is hope!! I'll keep you in my prayers.

kind regards,

I love to dance, too! However after the third heart attack I have to stick

to slow dances now. Even being blind with only light perception, it is

still fun to dance.

I hope you keep on dancing and stop falling off porches.

<smile>

What is chelation therapy? I keep hearing everyone talk about, but so far

I have seen no explanation of just what it is. LaWanda At 06:45 PM 9/3/03
