Guest guest
I think you are right about him. I felt he had problems mentally himself and also a problem towards women. Here's one comment he made to me. " You mean it only took one time to clean all that GUNK out " He was referring to my D & C.Here's another. His words for a pelvic exam ' Is when they shove their whole hand up inside you " . Both I took as degrading comments towards women. It was also his tone. Plus saw him for about 8 months still have pain and NO DX???? UGH! The pain is exhausting me. One of the most moodiest persons I have ever met. Thanks for your reply and support. Hope your lawyer gets his act together. If it were me I be pissed as hell at him. One thing that my cousin says whom is a patent lawyer says about getting SSDI. He said REALLY act and tell the judge you are fatigued. For some reason he said they pay attention when fatigued is mentioned. Good Luck and get rid of the knuckle head if he's going to pull strange stunts on you. Guest guest
Marta, I guess pain medication can send signals to the brain confusing you about pain after taking meds for long periods of time. Making you think you are having much MORE pain than you really are having. I know it is confusing to me but a cancer patient told me the same thing. But I think my Neurologist used that excuse as a cop out. Since he can't explain why I have pain. Haven't had problems with head aches. Only had one that was BAD a couple weeks ago but I think it was due to menopause not the pain medication. Isn't middle age fun! Guest guest
, He is so full of crap. The only time that happens is with headaches (called rebound headaches). I do believe the nerves can become sensitized so that the pain is worse when you STOP the pain medication, but it does not CAUSE pain. Sounds to me like he's doing you a favor by moving away. He's either lying or is completely incompetent. I would start looking for a new pain doctor ASAP. Perhaps ask around and find one who's a little more capable. Maybe then you can finally get a diagnosis. Have a low pain evening. Hugs, Alanna Sent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerry Question about Medication Aloha Everyone, I have a question for the group. Guest guest
I have had some pain meds cause me more pain, actually I have a list of them, unfortunately the reason was because I actually had a sensitivity bordering on allergy to those meds. I've been on meds that have made me fell like my ears were being boxed in, i've lost my vision (while driving which is no fun), i've had joint aches and pains because of those meds. I have had head aches, shoulder aches and face aches and one particular medication caused me to have symptoms of a heart attack within hours. Of course, this is me but speaking with my anesthesiologist at the time, and even my current pain doc who tried me on a relatively new pain med before my methadone two years ago, he did explain that it wasn't necessarily causing me actual physical pain but the meds were attacking my nerve endings, etc, and due to the fact it was a particular type/class of medication that I should never ever take. I have those listed even as allergies because my physical reactions to them are off the charts. Not every medication reacts the same to every person and although my pain ratings were going off the charts I could not take anything stronger than norco before the methadone came along otherwise I was laid up because of the meds and not my physical problems. Guest guest
I think your best resource is your pharmacist.  I know some kinds of pain can be a side effect...like headaches. If the headache is worth it then what the heck. I get one now and again. It could be a side effect.  But...if anyone has a decent answer it would be a pharmacist. Ask him/her what he thinks that doc meant by that...what side effects could be pain from Norco. I can't find it in anything online. Lotacats “I love cats because I enjoy my home; and little by little, they become its visible soul.†Twitter_follow me http://twitter.com/LotacatsFunPix Express Chronic Pain Awareness http://www.cafepress.com/lotacatspix/5815010 Lotacatsfunpix.com http://www.lotacatsfunpix.com/ Deviantart http://lotacats05.deviantart.com/ Subject: RE: Question about Medication To: Hugs-N-Pain Date: Saturday, September 5, 2009, 2:22 AM  Hi ..I'm not sure about the Norco causing your pain, but I know that I've had problems in the past with Migrain Headaches... if you take pain meds, you can get what they call " rebound " headaches..so maybe that's what he's thinking? Guest guest
Thanks for replying. May I ask what your pain Dr. has RX for your aches and pain. I tried Lyrica 4 times and it does NOT agree with me at all. I have to go see my PCP on the 23rd and am praying he will RX the Norco that has been a life saver for me. Guest guest
Hi , The only time I got this statement from my doctor was when I was self medicating. I was taking more pain meds then I should have been so I was running out early. After a few months of this my doctor had a little talk with me about why I was running out early and that was a Big No-No!!! So, I'm not sure if this was the case for you but for me it was. Once I was back to the precribed amount, my pains were not as severe. The pain was still there but pain I was not I had to deal with it in otherways. Good luck and I'l be praying for you. Guest guest
, You're right..... this doctor doesn't make any sense at all. I also agree with you about Norco not causing you more pain. My doctor cut me back and kept me at a lower amount for 4 months before my old amount was written. This doctor of your's is all over the board, writing you a lower amount but turning around and writing you a larger amoubnt just a month later. I hope you find a good pain doctor that really understands pain or better yet I hope that your PCP will help you out so you don't have to hunt down a pain doctor. Guest guest
Hi , I currently take Roxicodone 30mg, 4 times per day and Opana 120mg twice per day, plus Zanaflex 4mg, a muscle relaxer. I hope you can find a good pain management doc, PCP's usually don't like to mess with prescribing pain meds, especially for those who have chronic pain issues. because of the liability and having to answer to the DEA. Thank you for praying for our troops. My heart has always gone out to those families with loved ones at war, but let me tell you, it takes on a whole new meaning when it's one of your own over there. Let us know what your doc says. Maybe he can refer you to a good pain doc if he isn't willing to treat you long term. Guest guest
Hi Alanna, Sorry I've been gone so long. I've been dealing with a lot of issues lately. My son's name is and he can't tell me where he is He did say that they are taken to different drop spots when they do their missions, so I think he might be in Kuwait and then being dropped into Iraq and or Afghanistan for missions. I have no clue and the mailing address I have for him doesn't give me a clue either. lol It's all codes. And when he calls me, the call is routed through Tinker Air Force Base here locally. So, I don't know and may never know exactly where he is at. I'm only guessing at Kuwait because of the temps he's told me about. Hotter there than the other 2 places. Guest guest
My son is in Afghanistan. His wife and I get that secret this or that stuff as well. I finally got a phone call. He can't seem to get internet like when he was in Iraq. Bummer. We talked a lot when he was online.  He told me something I didn't know...that Afghanistan is not really like the surface of the moon. At least all of it. He said at the higher altitudes it looks like Lake Tahoe...I live a little bit close to Tahoe...I thought Wow. He loves the mountains around him.  Go figure.  If those guys ever get it together over there and stop fighting, they'd make a fortune in tourist attractions.  I had to learn about hookahs...and get tobacco n stuff. Noramlly he's a non smoker...but I guess when you're going thru what they do it's kewl. I sent coals and flavored tobacco from a site that deals with hookah stuff. Guest guest
Tommie, I can't even imagine how hard it must be to have a son at war, but you must be so proud! Make sure to tell him thank you from me too. I don't think most people have any idea how important these young men and women are to our country. I'll keep the prayers coming. Good to have you back. Hugs, Alanna Sent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerry Re: Question about Medication Hi Alanna, Sorry I've been gone so long. Thank you for your prayers. ~Tommie~ www.myspace.com/tommiejj PH, CFS, FMS, Diabetes, Sleep Apnea, Restless Leg Syndrome Don't waste energy second-guessing what you're missing or what can go awry. Guest guest
Hi Alanna, Sorry to just now getting back to you. Yes, it is very scary, but for now he is safe. I got a very frightening phone call at 8am Saturday morning. It was from US Government on caller ID, just as it is when he calls me, but a woman was on the other end of the phone, a Commander. She asked if I was Tommie , then if I were the mother of PFC , I couldn't breathe at that time, then she said, don't be alarmed, (yeah right) she then said point blank that he hadn't been shot! Thank the Lord! She said that he had been in the hospital for several days getting IV Antibiotics for cellulitis in his ankle. And they were medivacing to Germany for further treatment as he hasn't responding to the IV treatment. So now he is in Germany. I've talked with him a few times since then, the Cellulitis has spread down his foot, and starting up his shin, the infection had gotten into the bone, in which that part is better, but the infection is still in the cartilage in his ankle and surrounding areas. After being in Germany or a week, they will probably send him back to his base in NY. Then once healed he can go back to War. I am very proud of him. He wants to finish the job he was sent there to do. He is very unhappy this has happened to him. . I will sure pass on your thanks to all of them over there., It's amazing how much our Soldiers suffer from what they see and have to do while over there. It is no small feat by any means. I just want him back home. I am relieved he is safe right now. Thank you for the kind words. ~Tommie~ www.myspace.com/tommiejj PH, CFS, FMS, Diabetes, Sleep Apnea, Restless Leg Syndrome Don't waste energy second-guessing what you're missing or what can go awry. Guest guest
Tommie, Everything happens for a reason. Perhaps this bout of cellulitis is God's way of keeping him safe from something worse. I would be very proud to have a son that brave! You certainly must have done a good job raising him. I feel sad when people put down what our young men and women are doing over there. It is so important! I will continue to keep is my prayers.
