-- Hi Brande,

here I know Im not writing much latley but I do read my

dailey. Your message here sounds like what I have going on in my

neck or just at the top between my shoulder blades. I call it my

syrinx pain. But it is more like a burning or tingling type deal but

at the same time it sort of feels like muscle. Dont mistake what Im

saying Im really not sure if it is caused by the syrinx but I know

that is where my syrinx is and it is the only thing I can think that

causes it. It sometimes comes and stays for days and then

mysteriously goes away. I usually get caught off gaurd by it like

waking up with it or it happens when Im at this machine to long. Ice

seems to help mine and just getting my neck in the right position. I

do plan on talking further to my nsg about it but recently we are

trying to deal with my bad hips so one thing at a time. Sorry to

here this is bothering you. Hope every thing else in your life is

going well. And it never hurts to ask even if you think it isnt a

big deal. Chris

watching TV, when all of a sudden this Back " Pain " rose up over my

upper Back. Just out of plain nowhere. It has made an attempt to go

into my Arms, but it doesn't get too far, and it is just in

splotches, best way to explain it. And it doesn't go too far down.

It's burning, yet, it did then turn to some what like a muscle ache.

I am still able to move, it doesn't seem to be impairing me. It's

just in my upper Back. When it started, it was moving, you could

feel it spread, now it is pretty much stable.

say something. I called my Mom up to ask her if my Back was red.

Thinking I may have reacted to something, but yet, I'm pretty sure

that I didn't, can't explain it, but it just doesn't feel like a

Reaction. She said it is not red. But did put some soothing Lotion

on it, just in case...................it hasn't changed.

it really isn't an Ache. It's both. The Burning part is Pain, and

Thanks for the Response.

It is between my Shoulder Blades, I would say. Not in my Neck. It has gone

into my Arms, which I thought was gone today, but it has come back some, not

any worse then it was last Night. I don't experience any Tingling that I can

tell.

I understand what you mean. To my knowledge, I do not have a Syrinx, but

that is only based on the last time I had an MRI which was in 1996. I know

very well that one could form, though, especially since I have both Tethered

Cord and Chiari. But I'm not jumping to any conclusions saying that I now

must have a Syrinx. I would say that it wouldn't be too far fetched to say

that I am pretty confident that this could be related to Tethered Cord

and/or Chiari, directly or indirectly.

The way it was acting last night, I was wondering what I could put on it,

because it seemed that if I put Cold on it, it would bother the Muscle

aspect of it, and make me stiff becuase I was cold, and if I put Hot on it,

it would bother the burning aspect of it. I haven't put anything on it. I

don't seem to have the muscle aspect of it today.

Thanks again. Good luck with your Hip.

I don't know much about syrinx pain, but I do know several family members (one

cousin at 20 weeks pregnant) whose gall bladders brought on sudden burning

" climbing " red hot pain that went into the arm......what is your diet like?

Are you better today??????

Thanks for the Reply.

I'm sure it is possible, anything really is. But I don't know........it's

not " that " bad. I've had worse in my Legs and Feet.

I didn't have it this Morning, and it went away again this Evening for

awhile. Right now, it is back, but not as noticable, and it isn't in my

Arms.

I haven't had any problems with any types of Foods.

Thanks again.

How are the Girls?

Hope you are feeling better by now...

The girls are great...thanks for asking. Marlee has urodynamics the 12th...we

had to reschedule...my neighbor (and friend of 20 yrs) had a baby and a week

later went into seizures..she was in ICU for two weeks and I had her week old

baby and 5 year old! Everything went on hold the whole time...we are finally

returning to normal!
