Guest guest
Larry, ( FYI) I just heard about a 'wonder' lemon drink that is helping people with AIDS. I cup of any juice-1 tablespoon of olive oil), very good source of Vit. K. People with impaired liver function have trouble absorbing Vit. K, and one whole fresh lemon chopped in quarters. Put the whole mess in a blender or food processor and blend until liquid. Strain off large pieces of pulp(if any). I use it twice a week. Doesn't seem to bother me. This drink is supposed to help people to absorb minerals and vitamins and to keep their strength up to fight the illness. I'm giving it a try--nothing to lose. Guest guest
Janet, Thanks for the info. I do know that olive oil is a big help in other areas also. I used to eat whole quarters of lemons by themselves. I guess I will start doing it again. Guest guest
Lynn, The average person needs 0.8 grams/kg of body wt. of protein per day. The vigorous athlete needs 1.4 grams/kg of body wt. per day for normal body functioning. I suggest an intake of about 1 gram of protein/kg of body weight for Mike. We are a nation of excess, dying of diseases of kings and queens by wolfing down foods rich in fats and protein. Almost all of the major causes of death in America are linked to diet. Heart disease, cancer, diabetes, osteoporosis....the list goes on. You can reduce your risk of cancer alone by 40% with a proper program of nutrition. The diet your phsician friend prescribed is perfect for Mike's needs just calculate the number of grams of protein he needs based on the information above. A physican friend of mine told me the other day that he should be on a low fat, low protein diet. That the protein from meat when not broken down properly could lead to the larger than normal amount of ammonia, thus as so one said "brain fade". I have so many questions.. What is the bodies requirement for protein? How much. and How much is too much....? What else, if not processed correctly can cause him harm? I'm going to spend some time on the internet looking for some of this information....I'm not certain where or what to search... but we'll see. Again Norm thanks your a great help......Lynn > ---------------- > Does your free web site address contain more letters than the alphabet? Register a domain name with DomainDirect.
