Guest guest
LOL Jena, That is almost the same saying we have here in Oklahoma. " If you don't like the weather just wait a minute it'll change " . lol I guess that is all over the US as I've heard it for other States too. Too funny! We have had the same kind of weather you have now, except now we have had a cold front moving through and it was a high of 46 today and that happened early this morning. Then it dropped down to 42 for an afternoon/early evening temp. Then we are looking as snow next weekend. Maybe a white one in store for us, I sure hope so!!! ~Tommie Is it really december?? Ok i know its been warmer in some places then we're use dto for this time of year. While im not necessarily complaining ..its just weird lol. This weekend we had temps in the 70s, sunny and beautiful. Had windows open and fan going. Couldnt believe it and today is supposed to be warm again. They say it may cool down at end of week and honestly as much as i hate the cold and hurt in the cold i hope it at least cools a bit for xmas. Im not one of those who are used to warm temps all year. I always wondered how people in the warm climates like fl , ca, tx ect celebrated xmas and got in spirit when it can be 80 that day lol. Im from ct so im used to snow and cold cold cold. But its supposed to be over 70 today. Ill enjoy it while we have it and the dogs love running around like nuts outside. I finally got all my baking items packed up from freezer to tins to boxes. Sent out all f them saturday except his parents which we'll be sending today. It wasnt nearly as costly as i thought and im glad i saved the money on my car insurance (sound like a geico commercial lol) but it helps. Well I hope everyone is enjoying some nice weather and had a good weekend. Sorry i wasnt on much but now im taking a break. Oh my mother in law sent down a small box for us and of course we couldnt wait to open the gifts (im like a kid and dennis doesnt exactly tell me to wait lol) but my mother in law knows how much i miss snow and got me a pair of soft fuzzy pj bottoms with pink snowflakes plus some hand stuff from mary kay. A couple other small things including an outdoor thermometer with the currier and ives theme to 'remind us of the snow up north' thought that was sweet. Ok gonna get off here for a bit but wanted to touch base.sorry wrote a book lol Take care-luv ya !! -- ~*~~*~ Happy Holidays from me and my family to you and yours! Guest guest
, You think the 80's are bad for Christmas, perhaps you haven't talked to any Aussie folks? They experience 100's and spend Christmas at the beach after they cook out on the grill Christmas day. lol I guess they celebrate it kind of like the 4th of July here, except they have Christmas tree's. lol I wouldn't like that, but it's all they know. We are suppose to be cold Christmas with chances of snow Saturday and Sunday before ~Tommie Is it really december?? Ok i know its been warmer in some places then we're use dto for this time of year. Guest guest
wow if we got 7 inches of snow. it would surely be a mess here. we usually get 2-3 inches if any. In 1993, we got a blizzard. it came a ice storm and then snowed on top of that. the worst I can remember in my lifetime. Everybody's power was out. only 4 wheel drives were on the road and on the ice they wasn't doing to good. for years after that if the weather man said there was even a threat of a winter storm the stores were cleaned out of milk and bread.... ~:~Jena~:~ My Home Page My E-mail Is it really december?? Guest guest
We don't get that much snow very often. As a matter of fact our normal for the entire season is 9 inches, so we almost met that in one day. lol I love when we get that much snow at one time and then it hangs around for a wk to a wk and a half! It's great. The first day, some of the depts. of the Court House were closed, the 2nd day, the entire Court System was closed. lol So lots of business closed the 2nd day, but grocery stores and most other merchants remained open. I'm glad they did. People still have to eat. ~Tommie Is it really december?? Ok i know its been warmer in some places then we're use dto for this time of year. Guest guest
Its been unusually cold here (Nevada). Below zero at night and a high of 28. All I could say this morning when I woke up was OUCH!!! But I dragged myself to work and it hurt less when I moved more. ~Angie
Guest guest
That's the way it usually works for us too Jena, but this time, we were right in the line and got enough cold for long enough that it stayed. We were surprised as the ground was pretty warm before it snowed. We didn't even expect it to stick. But it got bitter cold. ~Tommie Is it really december?? Ok i know its been warmer in some places then we're use dto for this time of year. While im not necessarily complaining ..its just weird lol.
