Guest guest
that is what I say about the nightshift too. My son works it as well. I want them both off of it. Today has been a little better pain wise. Hope it has been for you too. Jena ~:~Jena~:~ My Home Page My E-mail Re: Jena shift and pain Ugh! 7p-7a shift. That one really stinks. I've done it and for a while had to do it 7 days a week, mandatory! I worked for Dayton Tire Co, in the shipping office and they went on strike. Being a salaried employee, we had to take on the Union guys jobs and of course at their pay rate. I got lucky and got to stay in the office doing my usual job. I feel that our bodies weren't meant to work all night, we are meant to sleep all night. lol We aren't nocturnal! That's cat's, not people. I hope he doesn't have to work it long either. It was hard enough working 7a-7p! I'm sorry you have had such a bad pain day I hope today is a better day for you! My day was a really bad pain day too. I just got up at about 3:15 and so far so good. lol But I've only been up for almost 30 mins. Gentle hugs, ~Tommie you are so right about that. My husband is off today and everytime he came in and saw me on my heating pad. He would just give me a look. But then he is ill at the whole. He just started a new position at work and it is on the 7p-7a shift. He is not a spring chicken anymore. I sure hope he doesn't have to stay on the shift long. He worked it 15 years while the kids were going up and it really took a toll on him. He had been on days for just over a year and it was so nice. Jena ~:~Jena~:~ My Home Page My E-mail . Guest guest
Hi Jena, Saturday was a horrible pain day for me. I had to take lots of medicine to get it under control. Then Sunday, as I kept the pain under control, I was able to make 3 batches of candy!! I had so much fun doing it. Just took my time. Took me all day, but I did it! I never got dressed even, just made candy. Didn't even cook dinner. lol I made my last batch while Danny and went to see the Eragon movie. was very disappointed as he has read the book several times, totally obsessed with it, has even been in contact through regular mail with the Author, who is only 21 now, he was a mere teenager when he wrote the book. Anyway, said it was NOTHING like the book and felt so bad for Paolini, the Author. But Danny thought the movie was great, but he hadn't read the book. It was a good movie said, he was just disappointed that it wasn't exactly like the book. He is an avid reader, I'm blessed there. LOL Last year in school he had to be told he couldn't bring books to class because he would read instead of do his school work. I made the mistake of grounding him from reading once because it was the only thing I could take away that meant anything to him. Sad isn't it? But I will never do that again. It really did some damage Live and learn I guess, huh? I'm glad you had a better day where the pain is concerned. ~Tommie Re: Jena shift and pain Ugh! 7p-7a shift. That one really stinks. Guest guest
Jena, You can probably check out the books at the local library! Just an idea. I've still got candy to make. You know it was next to impossible to find a durn candy thermometer. I called EVERY store in my small town, that includes: Kohl's Department Store, Walmart, Dollar Tree, Dollar General, Walgreen's Pharmacy, Big Lots and there is one more, I can't think of right now. I finally found one this morning at the grocery store I shop at in Oklahoma City. The lady had JUST stocked them just before I pulled up in the scooter and asked if they had any. I felt so lucky because those will be gone before the end of the week and I got there just as she put them out! Is that luck or what? lol I've still got to make Divinity. I made some last night using the test method in cold water and I just didn't get it hot enough I don't think. It's kind of like taffy!! Edible and it will get eaten. It was good too. It is cherry pecan divinity. So now I'll make regular pecan divinity and it will turn out great! I also yet to make Truffles and 2 more batches of peanut brittle. Oh yes and some other chocolate /peanut butter balls. These have rice crispies in them and are dipped in choc almond bark after made. I can't wait to make those. They'll surely be good. lol Then I am done making candy. I think I might tackle it tomorrow and get it out of the way. I plan to give my little goodie bags to everyone on Wednesday. So this will work. I just hope I feel up to it tomorrow. We had some bad ruckus here tonight and you know after a big stressful event, I'm pretty sore the next day. I'm praying and believing that I won't Having Faith too Who is Beth? Your daughter? Hugs ~Tommie Re: Jena shift and pain Ugh! 7p-7a shift. That one really stinks. Guest guest
wow, sounds like you have been pretty busy. I bet you candy will be so good. Beth is my daughter. She is 22 and has Down Syndrome. She is also my very best friend. She has the mentality of a 5 year old. but she is a lot smarter than she wants people to know. LOL She can bluff her daddy like nobodies business. I try to tell him she can do so so. but it tickles her that he will do everything for her. LOL I put some pictures up on the group page of her...
