Guest guest
Has anyone here been able to get off neurotin successfully without return of symptoms? I'm trying, and thought I could since I'm on a really low dose, but it's not going so good. I could really tell during the 3rd day, so I'm back on it. Thanks,
Guest guest
, It took me several tries to get off neurontin because each time I tried, I could feel the activity in my legs again and it was really painful. But finally, I just stuck it out and after a two week period, most of the pain went away. What you need is some good pain meds to help you through this period. I have heard from other people on neurontin that getting off of it does cause a backlash of sorts from the nerves, and quitting the med takes a lot of willpower (to put up with that pain). --- wrote: > Has anyone here been able to get off neurotin > successfully without > return of symptoms? Guest guest
Thanks , I do have pain meds I can take. My problem was that I developed some tone that made it hard to walk, and my bladder started to uncooperate again. I see the neurologist on Wednesday so I'll ask if she's got any other ideas. Maybe I just need to keep taking my low doseas most days I can be symptom free on 300mg, bad days need 600mg but that is rare. > > > Has anyone here been able to get off neurotin > > successfully without > > return of symptoms? Guest guest
Yeah, my bladder is gone, so it wasn't affected. Gait changes, those I dealt with. But I walk like a spaz a lot anyway, so it didn't make much of a difference when I was stumbling about. What drove me insane was that crawling feeling up and down my right leg. And the constant buzzing ache. Why are you trying to get off of it? --- wrote: > Thanks , I do have pain meds I can take. Guest guest
Hi , I am curious as to why you are trying to get off neurontin? I have been on it for years, and it works well for me. Neurontin helps so much with my pain and I do not take pain meds, only rarely. Cassandra wrote: Has anyone here been able to get off neurotin successfully without return of symptoms? Guest guest
and Cassandra, I would just like to be on as few meds as possible. Besides the neurontin I'm taking 2 meds for the bladder (SB related, had been on these for almost 30 years but doses had to be doulbed with the tethered cord issues), and 2 meds for rheumatoid arthritis/possible lupus. Plus, meds when endometriosis pain gets out of control, plus occasional stuff for sleep problems that really came on with all the steriods I was on with the tethered cord. I'm not opposed to continuing it if that's what going to keep me functioning at a comfortable level, but was hoping I could do without now that I'm one year post op. > Has anyone here been able to get off neurotin successfully without > return of symptoms?
