Guest guest
Theresa, no need to feel guilty, hon. We all do what we can when we can. No one expects more than that. Everyone here knows you care, and knowing that is support too, even when it is silent support. Don't beat yourself up, hon, guilt is good when you have done something to deserve it, it kicks us in the right direction. Any other time it can eat you up and be more harm than good. So stop doing that to yourself, ok. We love you, and understand you are doing your best. Be well. {{{Gentle Hugs}}} Doni-Marie _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com. Guest guest
Hi Theresa, yes I have certainly heard of it, my oldest daughter suffers often from it. It is well recorded that as amny as 98% of people who suffer sinusitis and other sinus probs have fungas growing in the sinuses , sometimes a lot of growth, they generally treat it as they do with thrush etc. They also told my daughter to keep hers in check, and see to the problems immediately they arise, as if let grow too much, the only real treatment is surgery. It usually is picked up/ diagnosed, when something doesn,t respond to antibiotics, thus meaning viral, fungal, that will lead to infection. They also have done many tests and believe there is also a link to fibramyalgia and CF, as they now beleve these could either be caused by fungal infections that don,t respond to the AB,s etc. Again there is evidence that it is also related to gastric & other reflux. So you see its not too uncommon at all. Hope this is of some help. Sandy( silly)
Guest guest
Hello Theresa, thats such great news about your daughter. It may have been because she wasn,t very well at the time, and somewhere , something just wasn't right. Hopefully you won,t have such a worrying thing happen again. It is a good idea to make a record of the time, date and circumstances leading up to and after, so in years to come, you have everything at yours or her fingertips. I do this, as doctors and staff come and go, as does the memory of the event,( well sort of) You know what I mean, things may blow over for a long time and then a recurrance etc. A diary is well worth keeping for her future. Any way great to hear things are good in that area, how are you now, are you Ok. Just reading posts, and was worried as I also had posted an E card to , but it doesn,t seem to be there. I wonder what happens to those that seem to disappear? LOL Hugs, Sandy

Guest guest
Hi Theresa, I would bet its the gendamiacin neb. I would see if you can add the saline to it, at the same time, that is what I do for the old gents. And then gargle after to wash out( should always do that after nebs, and puffers etc). I am a firm believer in the salt water gargle, but I add a bit of lavender or a bit of sage, sage helps stop bleeding, the others are really good soothers. A liitle eucalyptus oil in gargle is good too. Hugs Sandy
Guest guest
Theresa ,I would keep on the amoxycillin, whatever you do, as infections will start to progress without some form of AB. If you think its the gendamiacin, I would stop it, or dilute it more each time till you stop it. It isn,t a good idea to just stop it. You say you are well otherwise. Have you tried sage and lemon or lemon thyme together, in warm water every 15 mins. Its a wonderful healer for mouths and throats. As is Cayenne tea, every 15 mins, must steep both for about 5 mins and drank warm not hot. I wouldn,t wait 6 weeks if you start to get worse. These things take hol quick, but again you say you are pretty well otherwise. Why are you having the gendamiacin nebulised( why are you on it). You really need to explain that , as I must have missed something Theresa. Have you been put on it for infection in lung or asthma. As I say, if you want to stop the GM then I would just dilute it till you don,t have any. Not come off it cold turkey. There are some really great sprays that you can spray the throat with all natural, but until then I truly would try the sage and lemon, or the cayenne tea. I wish I could be more help. School hols coming up, gee they come around quickly. If you think I can help, just lets know, Hugs and more hugs Sandy.
Guest guest
Sandy I am on nebulised Gentamycin for pseudomonas infection. I am taking the amoxicillon for the sore throat but I was not put on it by a dr. I just found some in the cupboard & started taking it. If I drink lots it helps. I have tried lemon & honey. My lemon tree is loaded with lemons at the moment. Does the sage have to be fresh? Will dried be OK? My throat doesn't feel that bad - the voice is the big problem. Thanks for the advice Sandy. It is much appreciated. Guest guest
Theresa Sage dried or fresh is OK, that and cayenne are really good for laryngitis too, So it should help. Lemon trees. well. I had ( have one too). It has abundant fruit all year round. Well it did for 10 years, till last year or year before, when it was really dry here, and it got a disease caused by the weather etc, We had to cut it back , right back. Now its looking lovely but no fruit for 2 years, this is the 2nd year without fruit. I could cry. I used to bottle them, sweet, savoury. and make so many jams etc, gave 100,s a year away, now none. I have to pay up to $ 4 per kg here sometimes, so of course we have to limit them( budget) Same happened to my lemon grass. I kept giving so much away, and giving cuttings etc, now its asleep too. Everything else is Ok. But I don,t give any more away. I dry as much as I can so I have plenty of all. I must go, hope your throat/ voice is a little better tomorrow. You do need to take lots of sips of water. but these teas really do help and you need them to be steeped and warm not hot. Good luck, hugs Sandy
