Guest guest
I have a question about fruit and dieting. I'm trying to lose weight. I have been told to eat vegetables and fruit in order to lose weight. What about this since we've been encouraged to cut back on the fruit and fruit juices. If I cut out the fruit does any one have any ideas as to what I can eat. Thanks. Terri
Guest guest
Terri. Cut back the carbs and you'll lose weight quickly. In place of fruit and fruit juices and starchy veggies like corn, peas, lima beans, etc. eat green leafy veggies which contain the same nutrients as fruits. I.E broccoli, asparagus, spinach, Brussels sprouts, cucumbers, and any similar type leafy green veggie. Eat those veggies and you will get the same nutrients that are in fruit. Whoever told you to eat veggies and fruit obviously has no real understanding that those items have high carbohydrate grams and carbohydrates cause you to gain weight. When you eat carbs, and they are broke down to sugar, if your body doesn't need that much sugar, guess where it stores it? Yup, fat. So, if you eat 100 grams of carbs per meal, and if your body only needs 50 grams for example, the other 50 grams are stored as fat. By cutting your carb grams back to, for example, 30 grams a meal, you will drop weight since your body will use the 30 grams, it needs it, and won't have any extra to store as fat. Guest guest
In the last five months I have lost 22 pounds by just consuming 45 to 60 grams of carbs per day. While I was over weight at the beginning, I was not overly over weight being about 25 pounds over an ideal weight for me. The more over weight one is, probably the more weight one will lose by just consuming 45 or so grams of carbs per day. I would guess that I have no more than 8 to 10 pounds of fat on my body at present. My BMI is 23.9 now. Aquestion > > > > I have a question about fruit and dieting. > > I'm trying to lose weight. Guest guest
hello, Fruit is not a good thing as it is so high in carbs. Replace it with vegetables and nuts. If you really crave fruit, eat a very small apple or pear and just don't eat any other carbs at your meal. If you want the list of carbs that Dean sent, I can send it to your private E-mail as an attachment. Aquestion I have a question about fruit and dieting. I'm trying to lose weight.
