No poppy seeds can give you a false test for opiates. Not marijuana.

The first question is, is this the first time your test came up positive for

marijuana. It so test again, the tests are not always accurate.

This is not true

My 2 cents here. lol If you don't mind. There are foods that can cause false

THC levels in drug testing. And either Sesame or Poppy Seeds is one of them. I

can't remember the other foods, but they are out there. Perhaps either the

2nd hand smoke or seeds might have been the culprit, either way, they weren't

fare to you. I have to reread your original post and reply to that as I can't

remember your story.

That is what I said. There were 'trace' amounts in my system but I

absolutely do not smoke. As an HR manager for the last 15 years, I once

became pretty good friends with the director of the company that performed

UDC's and according to the information I received, second hand smoke can

compromise drug tests. I guess everyone has an opinion on the matter. I only

know what I know, and can't remember half of that! LOL....I've lost my

memory as well. But no, I do not smoke at all. Thanks for your input. Gayla.

Perri

-- Marijuana smoke compromising tests

Perri and , I worked as a drug and alcohol counselor for juvenile

delinquents. I often tested for drugs, and never really thought about the

girls getting it through secondary smoke. I started feeling a bit guilty

for the possible times the poor little things swore they didn't smoke it..

however, didn't blame family members! So, I decided to research it today:

Is it possible that secondary smoke will cause a positive THC result?

While it has been scientifically proven that secondary exposure to marijuana

smoke will cause some of the drug to get into the body of the individual, it

is nearly impossible for enough drug to enter the body to cause a positive

drug test. ( got this this info from: http://www.phamatech

com/athome-questions.html )

I just did't remember if Perri said it was marijuana smoke that compromised

her test.

Hi...another PSP junkie! You may want to use your PSP

talents here also.

http://www.cafepress.com/

In time you can make a little money. Sure came in

handy for me at Christmas. Open your own little shop.

You can keep very busy with your own designs. The

premium shops are not expensive at all. If the starts

making money it will pay for itself.

There's also Zazzle. I think it's free to be a

" Contributor " . I'm just now looking into it.

http://www.zazzle.com/

As for false positives...a lot can cause it. Even

melanin in the skin can cause MJ positive.

A list of goodies that can cause false positives:

http://www.passyourdrugtest.com/false-positives.htm

http://www.ipassedmydrugtest.com/false_positives.asp#

Legal:

https://www.lawyersandsettlements.com/case/false_positive

I was a substance abuse councelor when I was a Psych

Nurse and boy...do those false positives shake up some

people. Some stay clean and sober and work hard at it

and poof...false positive screws up the works. I can

tell you how it is to dab at a lot of hysterical

tears. We have to backtrack to what it could be.

Hang in there. We all know how tuff this all can be.

It's hard enuff without a false positive...it's gotta

be hell with it.

I'm sorry you felt picked on Perri - I certainly didn't mean to make you feel

that way at all. I found the situation interesting, more than wanting to make

you feel condemned. There are other things that can make a test like that

compromised. I can't remember what they are - some say poppy seeds on a roll.

I have no idea. I do know that when we tested a girl, if the test was

compromised by a " trace " , we at the girls ranch treated it as if it was a

positive test. Traces, according to what little I know really are different

from positive tests (according to the research I was doing - but am not feeling

up to looking that info up again). You can do your own research on it. I just

wanted to let you know that I wasn't condemning you, disagreeing with you, or

wanting to argue. I found the subject very very interesting beyond your own

situation. I definately am not an expert in the field.

Kind regards,

Gayla

This was very nice of you Gayla and what I would expect from a lady who is as

nice and compassionate as you are. With the type here, we know we can all take

things the wrong way. Some get sensitive and feelings get hurt.

I just wanted to say " bravo " !!! Very well said.

Tommie - I should have read this first! I wouldn't have posted the other.! I'm

slow also! The one thing I do know, after reading this thread is that I am

going to look up what compromises those tests, and stay away from them, because

I didn't know that a doctor would quit treating us if we had a bad test - how

horrible would that be? It just doesn't seem right that a doctor would do

something like that to someone....People are human.

Gayla,

Try this site: http://www.passyourdrugtest.com/false-positives.htm

Strykermom posted that site, (thanks Mom) it gives you so much information on

drugs, street drugs too. And things that will cause a false positive. I learned

a lot reading it. lol I also learned out to clean out ones system if you are a

user too. Gee, Xanax stays in your system up to 11 or 12 wks it said. I couldn't

believe that. I take Xanax for anxiety, but I also know it's taken by druggies

too.

Anyway, check that out, you'll be shocked. I was!

Hugs,

Tommie

LOL...PSP...Paint Shop Pro. Now called Paint Shop Pro

X with corel.

It's a really fun Graphics program where you can do

some really kewl pictures...freehand mouse draw, using

special tools to create or modify pictures and so on.

Play with your photos.

I've been using it for years and years. I like the

freehand drawing with a mouse. Use it for T Shirt

designs and whatever else...sometimes for webpages

when the mood strikes me.

It used to belong to JASC software but has been bought

by COREL.

http://www.corel.com/servlet/Satellite?pagename=CorelCom/Layout & c=Product_C1 & cid\

=1152105040688 & lc=en

It's the least expensive of the good graphics programs

and sometimes does just as good a job as the more

expensive ones.

I own the older Paint Shop Pro 7...keeps me going

strong.

Thank you Mom! :) I would have never guessed. lol Sounds like a lot of fun too.

I don't think I have it. As a matter of fact, I know I don't. I'm not that

creative when it comes to drawing.

Have a nice day!

You don't really have to draw if it's not your thing.

Designs created by a graphics program can be very

creative in other ways. Some people like to use

Fractals with other goodies added.

You can use photos and create blends with layers and

all kinds of transperancies. It's all a blast and

worth doing. Can keep you busy big time and you get

so into it you almost forget the pain sometimes.

If you have a digital camera...you're on your way to

fun creations.

There's all kinds of free graphics but they just don't

have all the goodies that psp7 has. It was created

before people worried about copyright and stealing.

My PSP 7 can be copied to disc if you want

it...private email me at lotacats05@... with an

address and I'll send it. Or..if you want to try

it...download a trial vesion of PSP from corel and see

if it's good graphics. Be patient with yourself.

These things take practice...and even pros don't

always know all parts of their graphic programs.
