Guest guest
Joyce, Weirdness... I'm sitting here looking at my bottle of Delsym and it says specifically in bold black letters DOES NOT CONTAIN ALCOHOL... must be some type of NY variant formula. There's alot of weirdness here in NY, trust me. Beth IPF 06/06Draw close. Hold hands. Life is short. God is good. Re: Cough Beth, RE: Delsym I looked online and it lists alcohol as an inactive ingredient. But....it is only .26%. That should not be enough to even consider. I guess I just feel weird, because I feel weird! Nothing unusual there!! Hugs, Joyce PF 1997 > >> > Maybe someone out there can give me some ideas. I coughed for over an hour and then some last night. Isn't there a medicine that would help? I take Mucinex twice a day for cough but sometimes it does not do the job. My Pul. does not like to prescribe narcotic based drugs. I was at the point of going out in the street to score some drugs if I could walk that far. Any help will be appreciated. I am not taking anything else for this disease.> > > > > > > > ------------ --------- --------- ---> > All-new Yahoo! Guest guest
Thanks for the information. I cough mostly at night, so i will try to only take the medicine then. Today is a rainy awful day here and I seem to have a cold. It's always something.Joyce wrote: E. If your cough is productive you should not suppress it with cough meds except to sleep. Leaving mucus laying around in your bronchia is a direct path to infection in your lungs...infection..inflamation...more scar tissue! I developed Bronchiectasis about 2 years ago. It is not uncommon with Pulmonary Fibrosis. I kept telling the doc that I was having productive coughing. Finally he did a HRCT and found the bronchiectasis. I had never heard of it. It is a rare lung disease, but not so rare if you have pulmonary fibrosis. It is a killer because it allows mucus to pool in the bronchia and it in turn gets infected. Thus a lot of us die with pneumonias. I keep trying to make all of you aware of this disease. I had never heard of it. If you are having productive coughing on a regular basis, it is worth looking into. There are definate treatments (postural drainage, percussion therapy, nebulizer meds that help bring that stuff out). I wish I had been alert to this sooner. Guest guest
, I am sorry that you aren't feeling so well. Let me know when you feel better and let's plan our meeting at the mall. I have been real busy. Today I had a group here with whom I play Scrabble and it was fun for a rainy day, but now I'm not quite so busy and would like to see you. My Tuesdays and Thursdays are pretty busy. Otherwise I am pretty flexible, even evenings or Saturday might work. I thought we could set a time and then tell everybody and if there is anybody else close they would be welcome to come, too. I talked to another lady on the phone earlier this summer who has this disease and I thought we might invite her, if that was alright with you. glocaskey, ipf 3-06 wrote: Thanks for the information.
