Guest guest
Watch the bumps. If they start to have a pale yellow appearance to the top of them, then to start to slowly ooze a pale yellow fluid, that is impetigo. That is the way my son's would start. It could also be lymph nodes too. When my son would break out with the impetigo, his lymph nodes would swell up all along back of his head, anywhere from three to six on each side of the back of his head. And they feel like marbles under the skin. Bumps on Head Hello. I took my son to the pediatrician today, because he had some " bumps " on the back of his head. It is down lower, towards his neck, but not ON his neck. The bumps feel as hard as a bone, but they do seem to move a bit if I press on them and rotate my fingers back and forth. Well, the doctor said that he feels it is my son's lymph nodes filling up. I asked from WHAT? He said sometimes when kids fight off infection of some sort, their lymph nodes will fill up like this. I asked if it could be due to seasonal allergies (which I think he has--lots of sneezing lately, and a clear runny nose). He thought it might, but didn't say for sure. So, I left not REALLY knowing if something was wrong or not, although he said not to worry. I remember hearing that once our kids get healthier, it is quite normal for them to get sick more often? Could this be what is happening? He has not gotten any bug bites of any kind that I can see, and the bumps are definately internal--no redness or anything. The bumps are probably dime sized or so---a " cluster " of 3 of them, and just on one side. Anyone have a clue about this? Thanks . . . ~Diane Mom to Aaren, age 3, ASD **Faith is not believing that God can. Guest guest
I would agree with your ped that these are lymph nodes, and have seen these hard little lumps persist for literally months, especially in allergic kids. I would watch them and not worry if there is no change, and hopefully they gradually disappear. Dr. JM Bumps on Head > Hello.
