Guest guest
I also don't like the idea of having to download messeges. Is there any other ideas for places to switch to? is there ANYONE that is opposed to doing this? Guest guest
- Whatever the group wants to do as long as we don't have to download. I'm not having any problems, so don't feel my vote should count. Guest guest
Tim, Thank you for all your help. I don't want to switch from egroups either, but it is difficult to keep the group running if I am unable to log onto it. Everyone please let me know what you think of this! Thank you! Guest guest
I don't like the downloaded stuff because I have a real problem working it still and it seems to take so much time. Guest guest
, Laurie, and all, I'm not sure how most members use . I receive each post in my email, although I have gone to the home page, /group/ and read and posted from there. (This is what I think is ment by not downloading messages). With egroups this is very easy to do for each individual message. Onelist makes this simple task a bit harder because of how it archives a day's message into blocks of 25 messages. At the site you can only see what is in the latest archive. There may be up to 24 other messages that have not yet been archived. Messages can be posted from a onelist site, but replies to an archived message are not supported (you can cut and paste portions of an archive into your post, but it is not quite the same as hitting a reply button. I emailed , suggesting onelist, but stating I had nothing against egroups. If a large number of members want to use the home site feature of egroups, onelist may be a poor choice to go to. A long list of providers can be found at this site: http://www.catalog.com/vivian/mailing-list-providers.html some of them free. Unfortunately I only have experience with egroups and onelist so I can't critique the others. Guest guest
I really don't know what most everyone is talking about regarding not receiving messages, downloading, etc. I didn't realize people were having trouble with it. I have had no problems since I have been on this site and have been so pleased with all of your thoughts, advices, happenings, etc. I really would like to know what is going on. I have been really sick lately and I haven't been on-line as much lately, but when I came back this time and had a lot of messages and started reading them, I find this discussion going on. Hugs to everyone, Biddy Re: EGROUPS >, Laurie, and all, > >I'm not sure how most members use . Guest guest
Just for the record.......I haven't had trouble with e-group either. If everyone else wants to switch it's o.k. with me though, although like others have said, I'd really not rather have to download stuff. I HAVE had trouble doing that often. Guest guest
Hi I haven't had any trouble with our current list sponsor but I'm not opposed to changing. I'm glad you have written, I was starting to get worried about you. Guest guest
, Even though I've been having some trouble I guess I wouldn't want to change unless we could get on something much better. Have you talked with e-groups support? I've only had a couple of times I couldn't get on but all I had to do was re-sign in, an inconvience but doable. I don't know why you can't get in. The other problem is that it seems sometimes it takes a very long time for messages to get posted and other times not. Did they change there format or am I going nuts. The member list cuts off part of the e-mail addresses. I had to change my internet and stupidly forgot to put down my address list and was having to do it over again and when I went to the member list the addresses aren't complete. Also if you don't get the posts by e-mail they aren't listed in numerical order. I change it so I wouldn't get them as e-mails while I was on vacation and can't for the life of me figure out how to put it back. Maybe I am going nuts. It's 105 or more here and we've been getting rain and thunder and lightening on and off so it's humid. Am I still in So. Calif? Maybe some aliens have come down and taken my mind and moved me to someplace else or maybe my brain is just fried from this heat. Sorry for rambling. Guest guest
I've never had a problem getting e-mails through this group. I've posted and they've been listed within seconds without fail. The problem may be with your individual servers.
