Congratulations, Barb!!

Glucoprotein test

My In Charge meter glucoprotein test was 223 this morning, which translates

(thanks to Teri's wonderful chart) to an HbA1c of 5.25, bg of 97.5 for the

past 2-3 weeks. This is my best yet, and I'm attributing it to the switch

from N to U, the oncoming of summer with more physical work, and the

continuation of a lower carb diet (around 100). I have also greatly reduced

my H for meals, which is practically zero, except for the occasional high

carb dinner.

I am grateful for all the information on this list, and you supportive

people!

Barb - you have been wonderfully helpful to others in the group - and you

are an example of what attention to control and an active lifestyle can do

to improve control!

Hey, Barb, that's terrific! I'm so proud of you!

Wish I could say the same for me...I'm actually afraid to use my glucoprotein

meter. Just as I thought I had things under pretty good control my base

numbers changed and things that had been working previously stopped working

and I started having BGs in the 200s routinely. Very discouraging. We still

haven't figured out why this happened but we've revised all dosing numbers.

Ron says it's like trying to hit a moving target. So it's back to the

drawing board.

I've given up almost all my favorite carby foods (I wasn't eating very much

of 'em anyway), concentrating on low and medium GI stuff and my diet is

starting to look like strict Bernstein. Previous to this I was eating about

100-150 carbs per day and I've just about halved that now. I'm really happy

to have that lowcarb store near me...at least I can have their bread (16

carbs per loaf) and the tortillas with stuff on 'em and that works pretty

well.

Also having trouble keeping weight up. I'm down to 120. (believe me, this is

as much of a problem as too much weight!) But I'm still feeling fine and

energetic...Vicki

Nice going Barb! I'm sure the hard work helps, and it appears you've

done lots! I checked out Rainbow farm.. Beautiful! It must give you lots

of incentive.

No, haven't started weaning that yet...gotta get my BG numbers in the right

place first. The weaning'll probably mess them up again. V.
