Besides burning and hurting like crazy, it will make a much bigger mess of your psoriasis. The chemicals are far too harsh to be put on broken, irritated skin. They're also too harsh to be put into your bloodstream. They will go systemic if put on broken skin. It will also dry it out and make the cracking far worse than it already is. Spoken sadly from one who knows...one who's tried it all : ) Mix a dab of antibiotic ointment with OTC hydrocortisone cream on a bandaid. Leave it on overnight. That should help some. Do you have a dermatologist? Do you have a script for an ointment or cream from him/her for your psoriasis? There are a bunch of good ones. My hands are usually a mess. The best script for my hands is Temovate. For me, it usually works overnight. I only use it a couple of times a week for some measure of control. Also, key in psoriasis, is moisturizing. Keep your skin moist all the time. I use Vaseline Intensive Care for Dry and Damaged Skin (hypoallergenic) during the day and plain old thick, greasy Vaseline Petroleum Jelly overnight. Both help a lot with the dryness and cracking. Hope this helps : ) Patty/NJ

Guest guest
Patti, thanks! You saved me a bunch of pain! Temovate didn't really work on me.I do 2 pretty high dose steroid prescription ointments, one for bad days and one for awful days. I also do bandaids during the day. When my remicade starts wearing off, nothing much helps the psor. I do hydrophor, eucerin cream, and cetaphil wash and lotion. fragranced stuff burns when I'm flared up. I do vaseline and sox on my feet. hands and feet are the " worstest. " do the joints in your hands get really bad when your psor. flares? just curious, my knuckles swell and hurt like the dickens when the psor. is at its worst. hugs jane > > Good day, Group! Guest guest
Hi All, I'm new here. Wouldn't recommend using " super-glue " on the cracked skin on your fingers. There is a liquid bandage stuff on the market that just came out this last year, that doctors have been using to close with in surgery. Then also there is that old stuff that's been around for a while called " Liquid NuSkin " , but that stuff stings and peels off. I've found that when the skin around my finger-tips starts cracking is because I'm not getting enough Vitamin C., once I increase the C, then the cracking heals. About me: 4 years ago I was finally Dx with Fibromyalgia. Tried the Vioxx and Celebrex for the pain. Didn't work. What I've found that works best for me is called " Percogesic " it is Acetominphen with a small trace of muscle relaxant, so it takes the edge off. You can buy it at almost any drug store. Don't take more than the recommended amount! That and my heating pad. Days when the weather is changing or getting colder, wrapping my arms in the heating pad helps. Sleeping better on a Cuddle-Ewe mattress pad. Looking forward to getting to know you all better. Until, Kim

Guest guest
Jane, have you ever tried making a salt bath in a bowl of very warm water for your hands? If you do it at the end of the day, give them a good, long soak, and then apply whatever lotions and ointments you use immediately after you gently rinse and dry them off (don't wash them off with soap!), it might help. I'll tell you where to go! Mayo Clinic in Rochester http://www.mayoclinic.org/rochester s Hopkins Medicine http://www.hopkinsmedicine.org [ ] PSOR. ARTH. QUESTION > > > Good day, Group!
