Guest guest Posted January 9, 2006 Report Share Posted January 9, 2006 I have been taking this for about 8 months, and it works for my neck injury (have 3 torn disks that will never be repaired) Its a synthetic drug and it does have a " bad rep " for being used for drug addicts to help with withdrwal, BUT was originally made for chronic pain patients. My Dr. had tried many different narcotics in the past 3yrs for my pain, so by the time he suggested Methadone i was at that point of thinking that there was nothing that would ever work for my pain, so i tried it. Well, i am so glad i did! For me it WORKED and after being off work for 2yrs on Work Comp i was able to go back to working 12hr night shifts. Yes, i still have pain, depending on the weather, depression, but the Methadone worked for me. Everyone has different pain and different meds and what works for one may not work for another.
