Guest guest
when you say this, what comes up for me is 'business' - am I in someone else's business or not - and I'm not sure it's possible to see that from the outside, only to feel that from the inside. one person's gossip is another person's source of useful, maybe even life-saving, information. with love, jon

People should not GOSSIP, can you really know that that is true? The book 'the four agreements' says so, and everyone say so. People should not GOSSIP; I am asking you, can you really know that that is true? It sounds like a good plan, and NO. I will gossip until I dont :-) T

Guest guest
my interpretation of the quote.. is that gossip is not fun because gossip is always negative.. and always aimed at someone specific. it seems fun because the ego loves to feel superior.. rh - -- In Loving-what-is , " Tami " wrote: > > >>> I've heard say that gossiping is fun > >>> as long as it isn't aimed > >>> negatively at anyone specific. > > >> Vivian > > >> I don't think said that > >> What is " negatively " , according to ? > > >> T > > > > > I was there, you weren't. Guest guest
My main man from Pune, Osho, said " Gossip is nothing more than chatter about the human race by lovers of the same. " It really depends on how we define gossip. The bottom line, I believe, is if I am talking about " you " in a joyful, supportive, loving way (call it gossip or just talk), that's OK. If I am speaking derogatorily or negatively of you, that's not OK, by my standards. And, that's just for me, not you. What you do is your business, and I have no need to live there, unless I choose to bear the consequences. > > Tami, > > You make a very valid point about people interpreting what they hear. In this case, although it was over 5 years ago, it seems clear to me what was meant. Someone asked specifically about gossip and took a very light approach to the answer and said that gossip could be fun as long as it didn't hurt anyone. I don't see much room for interpretation on this one. > > Vivian > Re: gossip > > > >>> I've heard say that gossiping is fun > >>> as long as it isn't aimed > >>> negatively at anyone specific. > > >> Vivian > > >> I don't think said that > >> What is " negatively " , according to ? > > >> T > > > I was there, you weren't. Used to be, I'd be checking out radio stations, and come across 'Rush Limbaugh' type ones where the host would be bashing people left and right. Some are pro one candidate and extremely anti the other. They'd go on and on bashing these people and those that supported them. Finding fault with things they'd do or not do. I don't see how that's different from gossiping about others. And these talk show hosts were popular enough to stay on air and probably got paid well. Last time I heard one of them, before switching them off, I attempted to listen with an open mind. And I started laughing, and suddenly saw no problem with it. I loved them, loved what they were doing, loved what the moment held. Just loved. Tami, I ask you, do you think it's a 'bad' thing that they think it's a 'bad' thing?
