s platelet count would be :157,000. If you have a copy of his lab work ( several of us keep all paper work in files ) Over in the reference or normal area ( usually on right hand side of page ) your see THOUS 150 - 450 for ease they just put 157. But Dr. knows it is 157,000 Your lab says normal is 150-450 our lab says normal is 140-415. Don't know why different labs have different normal levels. Barb

Platelet count question

Hello! I mentioned that s platelet count was 157 (Mayo range on labs states 150-450)....Barb is saying it is measured in thousands. Now I am confused. What concerns should we have with such a low count? Thanks, , wife of dx 1997
