Guest guest
I have to agree with you Tom...But to a degree I think what she MIGHT, (that is a Big benefit of the doubt there) be saying too is that, A lot of us have ANGER because we have A new frustration each day, or we are newly diagnosed and are in the grieving stages...things like this...BUT...I really agree with you, it sounds to me like this woman really needs to HAVE this disease..OR ANY disease for that matter to truly understand why anyone one of us would have to deal with our days of anger when we do.. I am interested in all of your thoughts regarding her post. She said that she had about 50 MS patients. She made the statement that concluded the following:.........She said that all ms patients had hidden repressed anger with themselves, that it was subconscious, that because the anger was repressed caused the ms. I responded quite emphatically that she was dangerous an detrimental to many ms patients for suggesting such a theory that she claims is a fact. I said that ms'er's have enough to deal with without that negative seed being planted in one's mind. I have had ms and done very well for over 20 yrs. In all that time I have communicated with hundred's of ms'er's and found quite the opposite to be true. Most ms'er's are making the best of their circumstances and are not angry at themselves or anyone else for that matter. Yes, we surely have our times of anger but it is at the disease or the frustration that we may be experiencing and nothing more. What she said is like saying "all" Italians are mafia or "all" German's are Nazi's or "all" English are prudes or "all Irish are drunks. What is really scary is that this "professional" is treating patients. I would like to hear your thoughts. Regards, Tom
Guest guest
Tom You should the next time you see her, ask her if she uses the internet. If she does suggest that she might join an MS group and really try to get to know people with MS. You may not get her to take your suggestion but at least you are letting her know that she really does not know what she is thinking about. I have been in this group since Sharon started it an I feel I have learned a lot about MS from those who have had it a lot longer than I have. You have given me some good advice Tom. Maybe you should give her a free copy of your book and see if she would make them available to other MS patients she has. Guest guest
Hi Bill, I do not see or know her. It was a post that she made with another ms internet group. You gave me a good idea and I will suggest it to her. She is from Sweden, I think. By the way, I will send my book to anyone with ms or their caregiver if they cannot afford it. I have a second book coming out in Feb. or March and will do the same. Thank you for your thoughts. Regards, Tom
Guest guest
Hi , She made the statement that "All" those with ms have it because of constant repressing anger at themselves. If that were true that would mean that all ms'er's were psychotic and that is absolutely absurd. Sure we all have anger, maybe even especially so with ms. The frustration, etc., causes anger among other emotions. However, that anger can also be a very positive, motivating solution to a circumstance. That doctor surely needs some lessons. Regards and thank you for your thoughts. Tom

Guest guest
Hi Anne, Unfortunately, these so-called experts do more damage than we know. It seems to be a fad today that these "experts" have convinced the general population that they have all the answers. I suppose that is how they have to justify their existence.
