Guest guest
Hi, this is Norma. I am still reading most of the posts. I have not been up to responding very often but do pray for those with prayer requests and love hearing all the news and discussion of MS. Thanks, Sharon, for monitoring this list. Please do not take me off the list at this time. Who is reading? Please check in! > I wonder who all is reading the group?? Guest guest
Hi, I'm still here. I've been doing really crappy so I've been quiet. My MRI came clean so my sister is using that as her denial. Also, even though my PA said it's totally o.k. to use a wheelchair, my sister wants to hear it from my primary care doctor. Dr. K hasn't been treating me for this and she wants to go in at the beginning of the appointment. I'm scared that he might not be aware of the problems and just say " no chair. " I have no idea what types of questions she will ask and very likely will find any word to say to me " no need for the chair. " Without the wc I'll be way too fatigued to go to school and I want to get my degree this semester. --(can't get into the neuro until May btw. UGH!!!) ---- " When you're curious, you find lots of interesting things to do. And one thing it takes to accomplish something is courage. " Walt Disney > Who is reading? Guest guest
Hi all. I'm a new member, just joined this month. I do not have MS but my husband has been symptomatic for 5 years and was finally diagnosed 4 years ago after his second exaserbation. He has had two more relapses since then and has recovered enough to resume work though he tires easily as you all can relate to. I consider this group one more resource for me to learn what I can for myself and my family to live with our own MSer who is progressively becoming very difficult to cope with. He shares many of the problems I've read in some of your posts; memory loss, loss of balance, intermitent numbness and tingling, vision and bladder problems, insomnia and the worst of all the mood swings.....I'm not able to read all the many posts of this very active group, but I'll read what I can and learn from all of you. Thanks and bless you all. Melodie > I wonder who all is reading the group?? Guest guest
Hello My name is Bill and I am 41 and am married to my wife Judy and we have 2 boy's, I have had my MS now since Aug of 99 and mine all hit me within a month's time. I went from being in good health the beginning of July 1999 to using a walker and bladder trouble by mid Aug when I was diagnosed with MS. I also chose to leave work on disability. I was happy I had both short and long term disability insurance from my company. I am still on there long term disability and I was also able to get on Social Security my first time applying. I was glad that I was able to use my Social Security that I had paid into for so many years. You can read more about my MS on my web page. http://home.insightbb.com/~msdiabetes/aboutme.htm What kind of work does your husband do? Is he able to do his job ok and how long has he been doing it? Do both of you have any kids? I always felt my now 13 year old got the worse from my getting the MS because he had to take on doing things that I normally did all the time, like mowing, trash, house maintanence, etc. I have no balance at all so using a push mower is impossible. I am still able to drive my truck with the help of hand controls on it. I can also use our riding lawn mower so does get a little help from me. How does your husband feel knowing he might have MS? When my MS hit me I had no idea what it was other than hearing the word a few times. I wish I did not get MS but I am happy it is not a deadly disease that will make me die in a few years. I take Copaxone for my MS and I hope it has helped me out. I am also a type 1 diabetic so I feel like a pin cushion sometimes since I take 3 shots a day. There are three of us from Indiana in this group and we attend a local MS support group once a month. We have our meeting every 3rd Thursday of the month and have one this Thursday night. You might look into your area to see if they have one, they can provide you with more information. Welcome to the group and I hope you make some new friends. Bill Re: Who is reading? Please check in!
