WELL, FRIENDS, my dad was usually right and I've proved that again to myself.

Betty Bridges was smart enough to go to the DOJ site ... something I

should have had sense enough to do, but didn't. I'm sorry to have

bothered you with incorrect information.

It turns out, the paragraph I copied from the disabilityrights.org

site contains a typo -- I shall inform DisabilityRights.Org. The

word is " reasonable " not " UNreasonable. " I thought I was only dealing

with typical government doublespeak. I thought it too good to be true

.. . . and it was.

So now, I'm back to thinking the Dept. of Justice needs education ...

especially in light of the CDC report released yesterday. The CDC

report doesn't go far enough, but it's a start. And with it, everyone

in government should start rethinking their previous positions that

favored the wearing of fragrances as a personal choice. People no

longer have the " personal choice " to smoke in most workplaces. And in

California, one can go into most public places and not have to worry

about breathing secondhand smoke.

Bill Moyers will have his show on trade secrets on Monday . . . But

just think, the FDA petition has already done a job of revealing

trade secret information on five unnamed fragrances and one named

fragrance. Just check the analyses. Then verify that with the info

available from Perfumers World. See Analyses at

http://users.lanminds.com/~wilworks/FDApetition/bkgrinfo.htm#Analyses

and Product Label at

http://users.lanminds.com/~wilworks/FDApetition/eterbkpg.htm I

mention these pages because I know the URLs, but check Betty's

http://www.fpinva.org also.

Why should anyone have the " personal choice " to pollute the air with

toxic chemicals -- volatile organic compounds as seen by NIEHS --

with no regard to the underlying health of untold persons with whom

they come in contact? Especially in a health care facility! See

NIEHS and their " Common Indoor Air Pollutants " at

http://www.niehs.nih.gov/external/faq/indoor.htm

I am sorry to have bothered you with this ... Here is the URL to the

DOJ page and you can read all the correspondence on the subject of

fragrances for yourselves. Without typos.

http://www.usdoj.gov:80/crt/foia/tal605.txt

If you want to read something else that may be of interest concerning

color dyes and cancer ... go to

http://www.usdoj.gov:80/osg/briefs/1987/sg870164.txt

I hope some good comes of all of this trouble I've caused.
