Guest guest Posted June 19, 2006 Report Posted June 19, 2006 Hi, If it were me, I would ask for a second opinion on the biopsy. With a PSA of 15 the odds are that your Gleason score is higher than 3+3. If it is truly 3+3, then you should be able to have any of the therapies such as seed implants (Brachytherapy), External Beam Radiation, Cryotherapy, or a Radical Prostatectomy (RP Surgery). I had a Radical Prostatectomy surgery in 1992 to have my prostate removed. I believe that there are better alternatives today. I would not choose surgery if I had it to do over. Do not panic and rush into a treatment. Your cancer will not kill you overnight. Take your time, look at all the treatments then make up your mind. It is your responsibility to make the decision, but it should be a well informed decision because it will affect you for the rest of your life. If it were me, I would have at least two more PSA tests to see if there is any upward trend. The PSA will correlate fairly closely to any cancer activity.
