Guest guest
I did not even know there was such a thing as clown college. What did you do or learn? I guess we are just self taught, The make up and stuff just goes along with drama stuff so that was not a problem. The goofy part is easy, just act like normal. Throw in a love for kids and a clown is born! Gwen Sandy wrote: Hi , If you can find one more finger..... I went to " Clown College " in '83 I did a lot of " Clowning " for family, it was so much fun!!
Guest guest
Hi Gwen, I think it was a six month class, and it was taught by a Clown professor!! We learned everything from applying your make up, which there are three types of clown faces, so you had to choose the type you wanted to be , then learn the make up techniques to that specific type. Then we learned all about balloons!! That was my personal favorite. I loved to do balloon animals and hats and all different things. We also learned how to make our own costumes!!! That was fun, too. Our final grade was, we learned a skit and had to perform it on our graduation day, for our family and friends!! I have a diploma that says I am a certified clown!! My clown name is " Dimples " !! I have always had two dimples when I smiled real big, so it fit really well. Thanks for reviving all those old memories!!! Big huggs and smiles, Sandy Moderator (and " Dimples " the clown) > Gwen wrote: > > I did not even know there was such a thing as clown college. What did you do or learn? Guest guest
That is so neat. I also had some training, but it was a 5 day seminar. My favorites were also balloons. But we didn't learn how to make costumes or do our own makeup. Just balloon art and face painting and what to do in tough situations. I still can't get over all the clowns. I guess we really are universal, lol. Have a good week all, Rach. Sandy wrote: > I think it was a six month class, and it was taught by a Clown > professor!! I still like to play around now and then. My 15 year old enjoys making stuff with them too. Keep smiling!! Big huggs, Sandy Moderator > " Ray " wrote: > > That is so neat. Guest guest
I always wanted to be a clown that had a dummy with him, a ventriloquist dummy. I have tried and tried to talk with my mouth closed but I just can't do it. My husband besides being a pastor is a magician and I can't do that either my hands are to slow. Once a year we have this thing at church where the neighborhood kids are all invited in and there are carnival type games in our church gym and every where we can fit one except the sanctuary. During this time my daughter makes the balloon animals, hats, and other things. She loves to do this and every year the kids want another one. We basically got a book and learned how. My mom is an excellent seamstress and so she made outfits. The one thing I can do though is tell a story. I ahve to tell the kids it is a make believe story because when I tell them they sound so real. So, I can do that, well I can actually do more than just that, but that I love to do! This has been so fun talking about a interest besides pain. Sometimes I feel that pain takes over my life, but I refuse to let it get be down. Thanks for talking about clowns!
