Hi -

I just joined this group. My son has been on Miralax since he was 1 1/2. By

chance, I mentioned to another yahoo group I belong to - that I am tired of his

GI doctor just telling me to up his Miralax. He has a developmental disability -

they really have no idea what, but he can walk, etc. So, I always ask his GI at

Hopkins why isn't it getting better - he is very active! So, a friend on

another group mentioned how the Cleveland Clinic recommends MOM instead of

Miralax.

So, I googled MOM vs. Miralax. I was horrified at at the side effects Miralax

gives our kids. I am so angry I never looked into it before. When my son was

younger, he would literally scream for a week. We thought it was the

constipation, but now I am thinking it is the Miralax. He's 6 now, and he will

stand at the toilet and tell me he can't get the pee out, but will have an

accident 5 minutes later. He has mood swings- which I always assumed was because

he has a neurological issues. He has slurred speech - sounds like he is drunk

sometimes. and this all began when he was around 1 1/2 - 2. His PT at the time

thought he was just entering the terrible twos phase, because before he was

always happy and easygoing.

Now after reading the posts here, I switched to MOM Bree days ago. He has one

large BM, but no pee accidents! I would like to know what I can give him to get

Miralax out of his system. I read lemonade...any lemonade or real lemonade?

Thanks

Joanna
