Guest guest
Tess, this brought tears reading about your shopping trip. You are surely a model for anyone anticipating this type of surgery. Hugs June Thank you all for your responses. I am going to call my rheumy' s MA tomorrow and ask her to run this by him. I am down 121 pounds in 8 1/2 months! The 'window of opportunity' for significant weight loss with the surgery I had is 18 - 24 months. I am confident I'll reach my goal, or lower. I'm off of ALL diabetes meds, high blood pressure meds, edema meds and anxiety meds. 9 months ago I needed to use a scooter-cart (whether I was in a RA flare or not) to buy just a small amount of groceries and I had to have help to tote them into my house. Today I did my monthly shopping (all my staples) at a 'warehouse' grocery store, walked & walked - no scooter-cart, bagged up my groceries, loaded them into the car, toted them into my home and put them away. What an awesome feeling it is to do these ordinary tasks! I am just so happy about the increase of mobility and freedom. Love & hugs to all... Guest guest
Way to go, little (and I should capitalize LITTLE) sis! How much more weight do you need to lose to get to your goal? I'm so proud of you, and happy that you can give up so many meds! Wanna go shopping for me? Judi
