Guest guest
Hi Vikki, I hope by now your antibiotic is working and you're beginning to feel a bit better. I totally understand what you mean about your family not understanding how you feel! I finally had to sit my daughter and her husband down and say, " Look--this is what's going on! " She has a 4-year old and 22-month old triplets, and their thought is asking us to babysit often is just a way of making sure we spend time with the kids! We usually stay with them Thursday evening while Tom is at work and goes to choir practice. Last evening I wasn't looking forward to the drive out there as it had been snowing all day and they live out in the country, but I haven't seen the little ones in 2 weeks. I felt miserable (have had the sore throat/sinus infection too) but I would have gone. When called to say choir practice was cancelled I had to restrain myself from yelling " whoopee! " You may need to be direct with your family and tell them that you just can't do it sometimes, and assign duties. Even a 4 year old can help out, my grandson does. It won't hurt them to have an occasional supper of cereal, fruit & toast. The more they can help (if they think it is a game) the less demanding they will be. You're right, " this too shall pass!
