Guest guest
I'm FINALLY over the strep throat! It was a rough go - I ended up in the hospital ER on Tuesday because my throat wanted to close up. I was also dehydrated since I hadn't been able to swallow even liquids for a couple of days. The IV really helped. They gave me something for pain (SEVERE sore throat), more IV antibiotics and steroids to take down the swelling. I was a mess! One funny thing - my son (Greg) had taken me to the hospital. I didn't call my husband (Wes) at work because he was due to get off in an hour anyway. As soon as Greg contacted him, Wes high-tailed it to the Urbana hospital to see me. Problem was, I was in the Springfield hospital! (It is the same distance to both hospitals from our house.) It was after dark before he made it to the right place. All I have to deal with now is the cold sores I always get after I get sick. My joints are being relatively well-behaved, considering I haven't had my Enbrel injection since last week. I still have a LOT of fatigue and a little dizziness - I'm not sure where that is coming from. I'll stay on the antibiotics for another week, but the worst is definitely over.
