Dear Group,

Wow I realized that there are two (s) posting; I am a professional

nurse and researcher and a CIPer (RSD etc.) should I sign my name differently??

Peace and a PFD to all,

How about?

No, MTX is not required. Strongly recommended, suggested by the FDA in the

prescribing guidelines, yes; mandatory, no.

There are people who can't use MTX and they use a different DMARD. Others

use Remicade alone. There are members in our group who have used Remicade

alone or have used Remicade plus an alternative DMARD (such as Plaquenil or

Arava).

It's in one's own best interest to use MTX with Remicade (or to use another

DMARD) because, generally speaking, the combination is much more efficacious

than Remicade alone. That's also why some insurers will want MTX or another

DMARD used along with Remicade. If they're going to shell out the money,

they want it to work.

I'll tell you where to go!

Jan,

Don't worry about whining - that is what we are here for to whine to

each other - get it off our chests - get some good advice if it is

out there or just some commiseration.

I have been having an upset stomach lately too. I thought it was

just me - Not sure where this is coming from. I am not a likely

person to throw up but today I have felt all day like it is going to

happen. I felt like this a couple weeks ago too. Left shoulder

pain and achey left arm and nausea.

I go to my remicade appointment on the 7th but don't have a doctor's

apointment that day but I think I might call the base and make an

appt. if this keeps up.

I hope you call your doctor and at least talk with the PA about your

situation. I give that advice but hardly ever call my own doctor -

I just hate calling them or seeing them unless they make me - every

8 weeks I have to see them because of my remicade treatments - how I

skated without an appt for the 7th I don't know. I know if Dr

Codding was there I would still be made to see her but she is gone...

I will pray that you feel better and get away from the throne.

God bless,

Althea
