Not California ... Portland, Oregon, where a lot of ex-Californians have

moved to. I went to the lowcarb store today to pick up a loaf of that

low-carb bread and asked about the website...she said any day now. So keep

watching! Vicki

Are the low-carb bagels locally made (in Florida)? Do they ship? Maybe I can

get my low-carb store to carry them! Haven't had a bagel in eons. If they

don't ship maybe they could pass the recipe along? Oh yes, and how do they

taste? Vicki

Do you think they'd part with the recipe? Portland, Oregon, is along way from

Florida...Vicki

As far as taste, I haven't had the real thing in such a long time that

they taste great to me. I still don't abuse them and have one maybe once

a week or so. Honestly, it is like eating alot of air but it makes a

great open faced sandwich (I only eat half at a time.)

My new local low-carb store sells low-carb bread that they make from a mix

that's made for a bread machine.. They also sell it by the loaf. Since I

don't have a bread machine I bought a loaf yesterday. (It was EXPENSIVE --

6.50 a loaf) They said it's 21 carbs for the whole loaf. I'm going to have a

slice as toast this morning Vicki

Yes, these things are made locally and need to be refrigerated. They are

made by Low Carb World in North Miami Beach and distributed locally. The

onion rolls are great. As I stated before, I was very suspicious of the

carb count but really, they do not raise my BG level. They have alot of

air in them. In fact, when I first toasted them, they popped up and shot

across the room. It was rather funny. Several places sell them around

here. It seems that my nutrition store has a huge variety. I will ask if

they can ship them when I go on Saturday. The problem is that the

shipments to them are sporadic. Sometimes they have them and other times

they don't. I think they must sell them very rapidly.

I doubt they would part with the recipe. Low Carb World will not even

sell to anyone but a retail store. Some friends of mine have tried to

buy from them and the answer was a resounding " NO! " I could send you

some if you want to try them. >>

Thanks for the offer but probably not...I doubt that they'd travel well. Real

bagels get real hard after two days...since these are so airy they may go

hard after one.Anyway, what if I like 'em and want more? can't afford to have

'em shipped from Florida very often...Again, thanks for the offer.

Ok, no problem. If you change your mind, the offer is still there. Do

you want me to ask if they will ship them when I go on Saturday?
