Guest guest
Hi : Try this: http://members.aol.com/mazern/mazefaq.htm. Also, Jack Drum, one of our members, is our *Maze* person. You might want to contact him. He is listed under *Members* in the left hand column of our Board. I'm inclined to agree with - check out your medication. A good percentage of my problems were adverse reactions to the variety of meds that I was prescribed. I know its hard to believe now, but time and knowledge, will ease your discomfort and anxieties. Unfortunately, we Afibbers must accept this hand we have been dealt - and as said, acceptance and attitude plays a huge part. Just listen to me - it's easier said than done.............I was a basketcase! Just check those meds out...........they are very often the culprit - and many times worse than the Afib itself - go figure! Keep posting - when I was going through it, it helped so much to talk to other people who could understand and shed some light on what was going on..........and we have a bunch of kind and knowledgeable people here. Take care, Ellen ********************* Re: Maze/Meds > Thanks, Ellen. The link to the links didn't work, though. Can you check it? Guest guest
HI , I am sorry to hear that you are having problems. I do think a lot of problems are down to the meds, I have been on every single one with the exception of Beat blockers. I do honestly believe that most of the problems are caused by the AF itself. I have a feelings of very general malaise, extreme tiredness, I always have had 40 winks in the chair ever since I was around 19. When in AF I can doze off for 5 hours and still fell tired. Shortness of breath. A very morbid out look on life. I also have a very difficult time in concentrating and making decisions.(Thank God for my Wife) I do agree that the very heavy head is a bi product of the drugs. Regards C Re: Maze/Meds Hi : I am so sorry you are going through all this.............as far as your meds are concerned, can I suggest that you check out ' Database and review who of our members are on what drugs. You can then inquire of each of those members as to what side affects they are experiencing or have experienced. Just click on: http://www.dialsolutions.com/af/ The Maze Board information is under our *Bookmarks* feature. Just click on: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/AFIBsupport/links. You might find some other interesting information there also. In the meantime, hang in there..........and God Bless. Ellen ******************* Re: To You mention the Maze AFIB board for newcomers. Can you tell me where it is? I've known I have this for 2-1/2 weeks, and hypertension for about four months. I'm new! Also, there's been mention of the Maze and I don't know what that is. If anyone knows which side-effect is due to which of my drugs, I'd love to know so I can plead for a reduction in that one. I think the muscle fatigue is due to the Toprol, according to what was said previously. Even chewing tires my jaw. I'm a wreck. I'm starting to dream about how tired I am! My voice is lower. Which one can do that? Is it just the Toprol that's knocking me out? Or also the one or > more of the others. The Accupril seems the most benign, but it didn't check my blood pressure enough. > I don't know why he added drugs rather than removing some as well. So here are the symptoms: > > General fatigue > Muscle fatique > Light Headedness > Lower voice > Feel tranquilized or sedated > Feel like there's cotton wool inside me > > And here are the drugs: > > Accupril 40 mg twice a day > Toprol-XL 25 (down from 50) mg twice a day > Diltiazem 180 (down from 300) mg once a day > Nifedibpine ER 60 mg once a day > Coated Enteric Aspirin with food, 81 mg once a day > Synthroid 200 mcg once a day, down from 300 mcg > PremPro .625 mg/2.5 mg > > I think the last three are innocent, but I'm mentioning them because of possible interactions. > > > > > > Web Page http://groups.yahoo.com/group/AFIBsupport > For more information: http://www.dialsolutions.com/af > Post message: AFIBsupport > Subscribe: AFIBsupport-subscribe > Unsubscribe: AFIBsupport-unsubscribe > List owner: AFIBsupport-owner > > > >
